Tall parkskis? +185cm

Hey,

What's some taller park skis that's available to get a hold on at the moment?

Unfortunately most brands stop at 182cm. Is brands still measuring their skis different from each other?

I know you shouldn't stare blindly at ski length since ski profiles determines a lot of how the ski feels but it's kinda wack that you're so limited in park skis if you're a taller human being.

Even Armada have started to shorten their park skis according to the website.

For example, the Edollo were 188cm 2018, the 2019 model is only 180cm.

Some examples.

Armada ARV 96: 184cm

K2 Poacher: 184cm

Line Blend: 185cm

Line Chronic: 185cm

Icelantic Nomads: 191cm (Only park ski over 190?)

Did their measurements become more accurate or did they shorten them? That's my question. I'm sick of buying 182's and 183's and them being shorter than my 179's. Like my Wets are the exact same size as my Domains yet my Wets are listed as being 3cm longer. They both have insane amounts of rocker and a similar design. It doesn't make sense.

ON3P makes the magnus in a 186 as well as the kartel 96. Moment makes the pb&j/jib in a 188. I just don't think there is a ton of demand for super long park skis as seen by the fact that so few companies outside of indie brands make them.

That will measure to like 180

I’ll have to measure mine once I get home, but it’s definitely shorter. Their recommended mount line was 1cm closer to the tails than it says on the site.

Domains always ran long. I had the 179 13/14 domains and they measured out to be about 182 tip to tail.

The Domains specifically? or K2 in general? Them running long is my point. Idc if it has always been like that, I still want accurate comparisons. 3 cm is a big difference.

in my experience k2s generally run long in terms of measured length yeah

Back when they made the Domain, most (all?) K2s ran long and the Domains definitely did. Nowadays, it's a mixture. My Poachers came up short, while the Marksman came up long. Same with Line, the Blend comes up short but the Chronic a touch long. In the case of the EDollo, the new 180cm length is the same as the old 178 (which actually came up a little long).

Vishnu are pretty true to length, as are ON3P. But in general, most brands are a bit all over the place with measuring. Best to try and find a review like Roofbox/Blister where someone has gone and measured the ski with a tape measure or ask on here if you're worried.

@OP Faction tend to make some decently long sizes. I think there's a 187 Prodigy 1.0 and a 188 Candide 2.0 for example.

I think all K2’s did before the 15/16 season. Don’t quote me on that but that was the general consensus back then.

Sorry for the double post but I still think that the domain was one of the best park skis that K2 ever made, particularly for rails/jibbing around. I just wish they would bring them back and make them a bit wider and add a sinistered base because those bases were relatively slow no matter how well you maintained them.

A lot of people don't know but they did make a 2017 model. It only sold in Asia and Canada. I imported mine from Canada for the lowlow. Free shipping too plus they look way better than the older Domains IMO. They are murdered out. It caused scratches on the topsheet to show very easily though.
