Taking footage off a cam

alright heres the deal. I took my friends old Quasar Hi 8 video camera to empire with me. I have a shitload of footage I need to upload to the computer. Wellllllllll, The camera is no MiniDV and I don't think I can FireWire the info, or can I. There is an input for a RCA wire, which I can obviously watch the footage through a VCR. But, does anyone know what I would do, or what cables, input device I would need to get this shit in the computer?

alright cool... how much does that cost? Heres another dillema. I currently have a Del and an IBM.... in 2 months I am getting a new iBook through my school. Now, will this card upload to both easily?

I have no choice... my college does a laptop program, they give u a new one when u come to school, and then again your junior year (which is coming up) and with my major (communications & technology) They give us the iBOOKs because of all the programs n shit... im not a big mac fan.. but i figure with the iBOOK, and iPod, and a few more thangs it will be off the heezy
