Taking a break

i hate weed at this point. idk if it’s super related but i’ve been having awful stomach problems again since i started smoking again. i’m done i can’t take it. i can barely ride in a car without throwing up. this shit sucks

My roommate had been smoking fairly consistently for over 10 years and was getting plenty of stomach issues that he thought was due to other things including methadone. Turns out when he stopped smoking weed, he stopped getting stomach aches.

yeah i’m gonna quit and get my appendix checked out. i think i have an underlying issue on top of the weed sickness

Stomach aches and the crippling anxiety of smoking is start to take a bit of a toll on me as well. Not just being high either, it rolls over into a 36-48hr period after say a weekend of indulging a bit more than normal and you're not back down to earth till the middle of the week. Shit sucks when you're juggling school and work. Wish the homies understood but everyones baked lol.

As an older dude who has enjoyed smoking a decent amount for way over a decade, I can tell you that you’re 100% correct and that self awareness is awesome. I still struggle with it.

My stomach got so fucked I was in the hospital and the doctors flat out told me it was because of weed. It’s called Cannabis Hyperemesis Syndrome. It’s a legit medical condition. At that time I was taking dabs religiously every day, smoking blunts like they were cigarettes, etc. and really wasn’t ready to hear I needed to stop smoking.

Now, I don’t do any concentrates whatsoever and since I’m working much more, I don’t smoke nearly as much and feel much healthier. Don’t get me wrong, if I over indulge, I’ll start to feel that nausea and gut wrenching pain in my stomach.

Best of luck to you…

You never get offered as much free weed as when you're trying to slow down/quit.

I'm also starting to realize that a lot of my long-time friends and buddies I have smoked with are just downright reckless with their use of weed too, like we're talking whipping out safety kits at a state park out in the open in earshot of park rangers and families with kids. Not cool. I've been guilty of being reckless as well and part of my anxiety stems from recklessness and bad decisions like that haha. Ive been one to hit the vape pen on the chair though in the past so I cant shit talk too hard.

Can’t lie bro I used to smoke heavy but I took like a year off so that I could focus more my senior year (and I got hella anxious) and now the smell makes me gag. Haven’t smoked in a year and a half now. I also have developed this insane acid reflux where I can constantly feel my stomach like boiling so I’m 100% not gonna start smoking again. Good for you for acknowledging it and being proactive

do you have the stomach issues after not smoking for 18 months? Mine essentially went away after I stopped doing a dozen dabs and an eighth daily.

Yeah this just started like 2 weeks ago. Every night before bed I have to eat an antacid and I wake up and my throat almost feels burned from my stomach acid

Are you a big drinker? No judgment here obv lol

I’m Asian so I can’t physically process alcohol well at all. I drank a decent amount in HS but pretty much stopped after freshman year of college since it makes me feel like shit.

Word. For me, the acidity in my stomach is mostly tied to alcohol consumption or food I’m eating. Smoking is more like nausea inducing if that makes sense

Same. Alcohol and overeating being the big ones. Alcohol mostly.
