Tahoe Snow

I have confirmed it is in fact snowing in reno right now.

None down here in Carson, but oh well.

Also, i'll be at northstar tomorrow, anyone else going?
 
Snow at the base of Squaw seems minimal right now, but twd guy is talking 3-6 ft, possibly 8. THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
 
I hope for yours and squaws sake it snows and doesn't rain.

I know it will be snowing at Kirkwood, just another reason I ski there.

Either way I think we'll look a hell of a lot different. It will be nice to ski snow you're not afraid of falling on. I hope the first predicted storm (thursday-friday) gives us a nice wet layer of sierra spackle.
 
going to squaw the last week of february so pumped the are finally getting snow i was getting a little worried. does tahoe ever get any big storms during that time? i know it usually snows like all january but what about late feb early march i would love to go out there and get dumped on

We had 2 inches of snow all last January. Maybe 3. I'm being serious it didn't snow for what like 34 days straight? If it's like it was last feb you'll probably have some of the best skiing of your life. Who knows.......Dude asking that far in advance is a joke. There will be snow, you'll ski and have a good time.
 
yeah i know it doesnt literally snow all january but i'm just saying isnt january typically the month that tahoe gets dumped on? yeah obviously its far in advance i'm just wondering what snow totals are usually like during that time of the year. This is gonna be my 3rd time out there its been sick every time i went in april last year and i can say i had some of my best days of skiing ever its just so different coming from the east coast
 
Honestly this system that is lining up might last the rest of this month. Who knows though it might be a hoax. Although Tahoe is somewhat more predictable than utah and colorado it's still a crap shoot anymore than a couple days out. Why are you only going to squaw? It's great place but Tahoe has a bunch of other resorts.
 
i'm only going to squaw because i'm going to visit my cousin who lives out there. he works at squaw so he can get me free tickets and i stay with him making for a pretty cheap vacation. when i went a few years ago we made a day trip to heavenly and i liked squaw a lot better. who knows we may make a trip to another mountain for a day
 
"Areas above 8000 feet and along the crest are expected to see 8+ feet of snow Thursday through Sunday with more coming next week" Boom.
