Tahoe: North vs South

I am looking at working as an instructor in Tahoe somewhere. I have narrowed it down to Alpine and Heavenly (North vs South).

why Alpine? chill atmosphere, wicked park, friendly place to work. But where does everyone live, what are the towns like and is it a bitch to travel to work every day of the week. any nightlife?

Why Heavenly? parks looks good (but not heard many good reports on here about it), nice big town at the base (good nightlife?), big mountain. But heard there is LOTS of gapers (how much of an issue is this?) any one know what it is like to live there?

I have pm'ed some people and gotten good responses. I would appreciate decent answers with something to back them up

Well the bloods are from the south and the crips pretty much keep things tight up north

 
alpine is better, heavenly is flat but then you have casinos for going out, plus the south holds it down, look into kirkwood for the south.

If I had to live somewhere, i'd probably opt for the South just because of the better nightlife and all the amenities of city. I couldn't do the yeti thing up North for more than a couple months.

I'm tossing up between vail and south lake to spend december, jan, and feb working and skiing.

what jobs and ski mountain is recommended?

just getting into park, love the steeps and drops and wanna party heaps. But i don't know enough bout the area yet or what it has to offer.

hahaha. how many girls from south lake have you gotten with lief? reno has all the STDs.

but ya, if you are looking for night life and good skiing- south shore. no night life and amazing skiing-north shore.

 
and the gaper issue at heavenly is pretty big. i skied there for 16 years of my life. the older i got, the worse it became. if you know where to get away from them it's okay. heavenly's park is going to be sooo dope this year... and rumor is that they are going to have a night park.
