He means skiing technically difficult slopes, like the stuff you see on the Freeride World Tour, etc. It's understandable you aren't into it, being from Ohio and therefore not being exposed to it, but when you see someone air a 40 foot cliff from the chairlift, it gets me stoked to go try to put my bombhole further down the landing than they did so you can claim it when you see them again. Have you watched GNAR? You're coming to that ski community; it's not exclusive to Squaw locals. A lot of Tahoe locals will know exactly what's going on, if they haven't already Ego Claim'd before you.
Park is cool, but most of Tahoe sees it as something to do only when the rest of the mountain hasn't got good snow. Hell, I'd rather ski a good mogul run with nice snow.
All that aside, Alpine will offer you a killer terrain park AND killer "real" skiing for relatively cheap. Whatever you do, DON'T ski park on a powder day, though. People will think you're a fucking moron, mostly because only a fucking moron would ski park when there's fresh pow.
