Tahoe best place .?

Hi,

Just booked my trip to Tahoe, I will stay on south lake tahoe and will ski on Havenly and Squaw Valley.

Just wondering, what's the best place / mountain to ski there..??

I will probably buy the lifts tomorrow but I don't know if I should buy just to those places above or not.

Should I buy on-line or wait to buy localy when I'm there.?

Another thing I would like to do is ride a snowmobile but free-ride not those tours where you on a track following everybody.. If someone knows a place where I can do that let me know.

I will be in Tahoe begining of Feb 2012.

Well, Squaw is pretty much on the opposite side of the lake from Heavenly/South Lake. I recommend you go North Lake if possible because the skiing is far superior.
 
If you want to ride Backcountry in tahoe, i would recommend you tour with a guide as having someone with insight and experience in the local snowpack is in valuable, if you want to cat ski, there are two operations in tahoe to look at, one is in Northlake, for all intents and purposes, near Squaw called Pacific Crest Snowcats, the other would be 45 min south of south lake, at Kirkwood, called Expedition Kirkwood.
