Tablet Workflow or Suggestions?

Hey NS,

I was wondering if anybody on the site or forum uses a tablet in the workflow? I no this may sound obsurd, but what I mean is having a tablet or iPad and being able to view your clips you shot on the tablet through the USB port. I am not sure if many people even do this? In no way would I be editing on this tablet just viewing clips. I am thinking of asking for a tablet for Christmas, and I was wondering if any videographers on this site had any suggestions?

 
well definitely not possible on an ipad, no usb but maybe if it has an sd card slot? doesnt seem worthwhile at all when you'll probably have a computer near by
 
I was thinking more of a tablet which some do have usb 2.0 and as for your point about the computer. I was planning to use this when I am at the mountain. I don't really want to take my laptop up to the mountain just to watch clips at lunch or something. I think it would be much more convenient on a 8'to 10' tablet. And I am in no way buying a tablet solely to watch the video clips on a bigger screen. I am planning on getting one for just personal use and was wondering if anybody used them, and or could point me in the direction of a good one.
 
Whats wrong with watching on the camera? and why would you bring your tablet skiing? Like Thomas said, just ski and review at home.
 
Well lets just say hypocritically I already getting a tablet. Why I would bring skiing because its kind small 7" screen. I assuming Eheath you might yous a field monitor on your glide cam rig and other times you are shooting. So then comes to my practicality I shoot a bunch of skiers around my age(16-18) who are dying to see every clip. It is also very hard to tell if I am exposing the image perfectly right or if my footage is shakey. So yea. I was wondering more along the lines if any skiers/ videograhpers on this website have them so they could maybe point me in the right direction towards something that might work the best for the purposes I have stated above

And I've always made riders look through the eye piece or on my lcd monitor. Carrying anything larger than a phone sounds shitty to me IMO if you wanna do it then go for it.
