T2i vs. GoPro for starting filming?

Ya I've used it with follow cams. This whole edit was done with the kit lens and a mono pod. This is the first edit I made with it. Some shots are a little shaky but its nothing uncontrollable or overly obnoxious.

just cause a t2i kit is cheap, doesnt mean its for beginners, shooting on a dslr is far from entry level. After 3 years on a HV30, i felt i was ready to move up to a t2i, and it was still a bit of a transition

Buy this, its on for a really good deal right now as well.

And you could potentially squeeze in a tripod and a glidecam

Trust me, you will be able to get better results than if you had a t2i with next to no stabilization or lenses.

you still sound super unsure of what all you are going to be doing with this camera..you should just get the gopro play around with it for a while, save up some money and then get something better because then you'll know if you're gonna even like it or not

i mean that i wouldnt do much POV, as in i dont care about the POV the gopro offers, just follow cams, handheld shots. it just seems nice because of built in fisheye, decent HD quality, 10 pictures/ second, time lapses, 60 fps (twixtor shots), underwater, small size, versatility. not POV so much. dont care about that

I hate to be this guy but...

I'm selling a Canon Hfs-200 with wide angle for relatively cheap. It's like a newer version of hv40, except it uses SD cards instead of Mini DV Tapes.

Check my threads!

at least until you get the hang of filming and using a camera a lot and when you're ready to pick up somethin nice with more manual controls you can look into some high end camcorders or high end dslr if thats what you really really want

why the hell would you get an HV40? Tapes are such an outdated and shitty medium

/facepalm. Did you not read any of our posts properly? Gahhhh reminds of the threads legend films made and ecurbans. You guys don't seem to learn, I am sorry for getting angry but you are completly ignoring our posts.

we posted like 10 times to get the PANASONIC CAMERA POSTED ABOVE. that doesnt mean hv40 or gopro. Thats like saying hmmm honda or lamborghini.

Buy one of the panasonics that were suggested if you only plan on spending 600 to 1000 dollars. If you plan on putting more and more money in, get the T2i. But you are gonna have to study up. I just purchased one, and it does take practice.

oh sorry i meant to put the panasonic in there with those two. shit! lol. does anyone have any ski edits or tests with that they can show me

DUDE ITS GOOD TWO PROFESSIONALS TOLD YOU TO GET IT, everyone agrees. It is good. get it. stop asking. we gave you an answer.

we understand that anyone with an orange name is highly regarded, but that does not mean that they are always right because they are "professional". i agree in this case that zac is right, but don't automatically assume they are right because of the name.

lulz. I never said it did. The two orange names that posted are people who are paid to film. Ergo, they know their shit.

Dude honestly like 1337 said get that the one the guy is selling. I'm more of a panasonic fan boy but I support buying used and it already has a wide angle. Gopro's fucking suck if you're trying to learn how to film. The HF-S200 or whatever has actual manual control and is not restricted to fisheye shots. You remind me of that stupid legendfilms or west-coast guy who asks for help and then ignores it

Gopro is good to learn. It's what i did. But like others have said, get and hv40 or some sort of canon vixia. those are really great as well. and it will allow you to do more cinematic type stuff with it. gopro is a whole different ballgame when it comes to cinematography. but gopros are good to learn editing.

The gopro isnt a primary camera if you ask me. It should only really be used in supporting an edit mainly filmed with a camera that has real shooting features (zoom ect).... That being said- there are many sick edits with gopros.
