T2i filming

Filming with my t2i tomorrow. pretty new to dslr filming. any tips and tricks for decent shots. Like whats a good exposure to start with iso ext. Help in anyway would be awesome.

The native iso is at 320 for canon dslr, so I would try to stay at 400. if you shoot at 24fps your shutter speed should be at 50, 30fps shutter speed at 60, 60fps shutter speed at 120. for natural motion blur.

if you have time to download custom picture profiles and know anything about color correction I recommend shooting with cinestyle. It will give you a little better range and more detail in the highlights and shadows.

If you are shooting out doors try to use ND filters so you dont have to close down the aperture too much.

what lenses are you going to be using and do you have any camera support like tripod, monopod glide cam

also try to mix up your angles. don't shoot from the same spot all day. get some wider far shots, close up, and try different things. its the best way to learn

I have just the basic 18-55mm and a 28-135mm lens. I have a hand held mount not to fancy but can be used in a few ways mainly follow cam shots though.

Use the strap for a bit of stabilization, shoot way more video than you need, use manual focus, I usually shoot 60fps for a little better slow mo but that's just me. Yeah aperture is extremely important, snow is bright, I would invest in a tripod/glidecam

Let me know if you have any more specific questions. I've shot with the t2i for 2 years and recently switched to the 7d. More than willing to help answer some questions.
