T-Hall or T-Wall?

As an ambassador for skiing no-one comes close to the exposure Tanner has given Freeskiing. He continues to innovate in the Backcountry and has been top of the half-pipe game for the best part of a decade.

T Wall is pushing skiing in another direction but I think as of yet he is relatively unknown outside of NS etc. Though I think we can expect great things in the future.

man this thread really pisses me off, yea wall have unbelieavable style but theres more to skiing than park, and urbans, and who wears the tallest t, there really is no comparision, and im gona go out on a limb and say your 14? sorry if im wrong, throw in some old ski movie look maybe 5-10+ years and just think before you post, tanner has done more for the sport that almost anybody well maybe except sal masekela

who is the better park skier? T-Wall obviously.

who is the better all-around skier? Tanner, hands down.

and who will have the biggest impact on freestyle skiing?

Undetermined, because each of them is taking the sport in different directions. Wallisch is pushing the bar in the park and becoming more and more innovative every season, from pretzels to afterbang. Tanner is bringing steeze to the backcountry, combining aspects of the newschool era with the roots of our sport, "skiing real mountains" as he likes to put it.

Both of them should spend more time in the other's area of expertise. Tom could definitely become a more rounded skier if he spent more time in the bc, which would improve his park skills too. Tanner has skied park and pipe for years, but in the past few seasons, he didn't spend much time skiing park and that could have been a factor in his most recent injury.

I hope that they both appreciate eachother's success and that the two directions that they are taking freestyle continue to thrive and feed off eachother.

Here's my reasoning: Sure Tanner has had a huge impact on skiing and probably will continue for a long time but he is doing some of the same stuff he's been doing but in the backcountry nothing really new for him and I'm not hating on him I just dont think he's gonna be able to take the sport much further. Tom has the style that everyone loves and is always helping push the sport further with new tricks and just all around style at everything, I think that someone is truly good if they cross barriers between skiers and snowboarders, such as Henrick watches Lucas Magoon to get amped to go ski Tom is one of the few skiers that does that for snowboarders. I totally respect both as great skiers that have changed what we know today as "Freestyle Skiing"

A couple things

1. tanner can actually ski, make turns, carve etc. wallisch cant

2. Wallisch isn't the best at anything, if ur lookin at urban LJ is the man, or will wesson. And on jumps henrik rapes tom

3. the only thing wallisch has is urban and park, hes one dimensional

nope henrick doenst really have unnaty spins like tom does and wallisch has some dubs not sure if henrick has that either both great skiers

This is stupid. It's like comparing skiing and snowboarding, there 2 totally different sports. And these 2 are 2 totally different skiers.

Exactly. One is a park skier, the other can ski whatever the fuck he wants and still be the best at it. People forget that Tanner dominated park and urban for years before he got sick of destroying everyone and went off to try something new. If he'd wanted to continue I have no doubt he'd still be on top of it. Actually, if he wanted to put in the time to train, he could probably still come back to it and be on top again. The guy is just unstoppable and there is no comparison.

because no one on ns can think for themselves and have to know who people like more so they can try there hardest to copy their style and then more people will llike them.

I agree with your post but most people dont have access to snow they cant go skiing so they make dumbass threads like this that have no answer because the two people cant really be compared because they both excel at different stuff.

T-Wall, although a great park skier, has many things to work on before being really compared to T-Hall.

Tom has jumps and rails. maybe even a few bc jump sessions, but I have never seen him really ski the mountain. No disrespect, but he is just a park rat with a lot of steeze.

Tanner has the jumps, the rails, the pipe, bc jumps, and bc skiing. He started out in moguls, which as many know, if you know how to ski moguls, you can ski anything. He has the doubles, he has flats, and he has plenty of steeze to go around. The fact that he is still going after the injuries he's had (broken ankles on chads, and he is making good progress with two broken legs this spring) and all the competitions he has won, and all the movie segments he has had... there is no comparing the two.

yet.

this is stupid. i dont see why we have to like or hate one or the other. just cause i like t wall doesnt mean i have to hate t hall. they are both sick in there own way

I'm going to go out on a limb here and tell you that I like them both.

Please, no one bite my head off.

this is true

its just the fact that t-wall is just becoming more consistent with his rising talent

t-hall will still always be a god to skiing

once tom skis pow like tanner, and wins x games gold that many times THEN we can have this topic again, at the moment tho, tanner is still better

Just because NS is all over his dick doesn't mean he is on top. He has won a few comps had a few good seggys and is a good skier but nowhere near Tanner. Parry was/is right Tom will never be a Tanner nor do I think he is trying to be he is just skiing. People need to get over that, tom isnt trying to be the next tanner im sure of it.

great atittude cunnty cunt cunt.... with people supporting his future like you, your right.

dont hate becuase you've never had the chance to be compared to tanner hall.

No one call for the hate on him, he has had his influence on skiing as well. everyone who skis has some influence on skiing whether or not the realize it.

personally, i dont think it was ever the T-Hall era. It justs seems like it was because nonskiers still know his name. But true newschoolers know who T-Wall is and what he has done with skiing. No hate for T-Hall i like the guy i just dont think it was ever him in the true spotlight

such a stupid ass comment, your little mind has been twisted kid! Tanner has been top level in park, pipe, handrails, bc jumps, and all types of pow skiing. Being good at all of those is much more difficult than being the best at one of them.

I love that we're even having this conversation. T-Wall is the shit i must say. Nice kid, great park rider. T-Hall is still sick but definitely the times are changing.

both have their place in the history books - one for introducing me to cali p and the other for helping me to keep it hypy!

It's fun to see how this thread has progressed: in 2007 about 90% were on Tanner's side of the coin and right now the majority seem like kids who shout out "T-WAL IS BESTEST FUCX THE TANNER WHAT A BITHC LOL".

I still believe what Parry said: they can never be compared. But why should they be? I liked to talk about skiing and skiers when it wasn't like on TRL, with people always on someone's dick or riding the hate train to Summit mountain. First of all, like who you want BUT please don't bring the hate to the table, we still have a possibility to have a community that will grow into more awesomeness, not one that will wither into pure shit with time. So everyone take a deep breath and never compare skiers, please.

Go out and ride, peace.

this

they both have completely different disciplines and shouldn't be compared, they are also from basically two different era's in skiing that overlap a little

when ever i think of t hall i think of wannabe or he trys really hard to be cool and when ever i see t wall he doesnt really care what people think he just wants to impress people and step up so id have to say t wall!!
