T hall or Candid thorvex

I like them both really I Don't think you can compare skiers cuz they are better at differnt things and they are both at differnt levels of their skiing so i dont really think you can compare skiiers
 
candide, without a doubt. tanner is good at the park (pipe, rails, booters, urban, etc) and bc jumps but not much else.

candide on the other hand, destroys park, but bc jumps, cliffs, technical lines, plus he puts on his own invitational (with the biggest jumps around, guaranteed), and his own movie out every year. tanners heart is in the money and the celebrity part of skiing, whereas candide cares about the soul and sport of skiing.

tanner shouldnt even be mentioned in the same breath as candide because he doesnt come close to comparing.
 
Candide is just amazing yhear after year while i thinmk that tanner is slowly starting to fall behind, he didnt do anything really impressive lately while candide just keeps pushing the limits with crazy and creative shit (see new teaser fot w'happen)

n tanner doesnt seem to hold his grabs much any more...
 
and look at the ages too...candide killed it and threw that huge d spin 7 over chads before tanner had his little soap opera at mogul camp and even started freeskiing
 
In X-games style format, Candide would take Slopestyle and Pipe, but Tanner has been going so steezy in the BC lately that he would win in a vs Back 9 kind of format, easily.
 
tanner because he can spin all four ways (ive never seen candide spin right, im sure he can, but never in a movie) tanner slays Backcountry way harder tahn him, and doesnt flail and just kills urban like none other

True, and you are right to assume Candide is a master at going unnatural (Check out Pull up by WW films, good movie!). Candide can do BC pretty well, but he doesnt have the heli-rides like Tanner does. He does when he can, remember that huge step up in RFA? And check out the teaser to the new WW film, shifty 180 into powder off a cliff?

And while Candide isnt as smooth as Tanner on rails, its because they specialize in different variations. Tanner likes noses and tailslides on rails, while Candide has been advancing spins on during and off of rails. Its kinda hard not to flail a little while doing a 450 on to 360 switch up to 450 off (in Pull up, again, great movie!). If you flail on a tailslide, you die, so Tanner obviously isnt seen flailing much in movies.

In relation to another thread, I really like Candide more because he's not trying to be massively gangster or anything. He really never shows his face much and we all know him for just his skiing, not his lifestyle or interviews about his season. He's always kind of done his own thing, independant of what the rest of the skiing world usually does, and thus consistently amazes us, because we never see it comming.
 
i think the bitching they are referring to could be at xgames when he gor "robbed" of his gold medal or got kicked out of the club and rested before the xgames....things like that?
 
tanner is actually really nice, kinda wierd but he is cool.

oh yeah and i say tanner has better style and more diversity, but candide does more insane ninja shit.

Saying which pro is better than another pro is pure opinon. There is a reason they are a top pro, they both fucking kill it. Sure there are a few brad holmes' out there, but they are obviously worst than every other pro out there.
 
thats not true^ candide is way better then t hall or anyone right now, if you watch his trailor you will see that, his skills in pipe and rails and how big he goes is rediculous
 
i think that tanner is a more better all around skier.but candide is FUCKING AMAZING at park.he can shread his shit!
 
candide, no question. and for those people who say he flails, yes he does. but when he flails, he just tweaks his grab to a unnatural way and just goes with it. x games, he went bigger than than almost everyone there and the reason he flailed was bescause he was 3/4 done with his trick upside down and he still had lik 20 ft of air. he had to slow somthing down, and he did with out freaking out or spredaing his legs. the guy has crazy air sence. and on the rare occasian he does freak out and spread his arms and leds to slow shit down, it looks good. like in strike 3, he hits that hip straight on and does a 5. he is at 3 before the hight of his jump, throws his legs out in a fluid motion and brings it down perfect. candide just has way more talent, and he is from europe, of course he skies BC.
 
like heath said in the thread i posted..its all opinion...ur looking into it way to much.they both are amazing skiers and 1 day 1 might beat the other in a comp and the very next day the other will win..they are both so good that ur either gonna like 1 of them better because of the style they ski with and not their acual skill cause they are to close to compare
 
there's really no contest here, its gotta be Candide. He goes way bigger with a ton of style and skis balls to the wall. Watch his new trailer W'happen I think and you'll see some sick lines and some solid pow skiing. Sw 630 on a rail anyone? The main reason most of NS has a hard-on for Tanner is because he's American and therefore gets more exposure.

saying that tanner is in it for the money is complete bs.

now having seen both of them ski i would have to say candide is on his own level. tanner is an excellent skier and everyone knows that. both of them love to ski & both are great at what they do.
 
Candide does some crazy stuff but for the most part all he does is 3s and cork 9s. Don't get me wrong candide is an amazing skiier but... ya he only does a few tricks with a few grabs
 
TJ's not in the same ballpark bro. thats not to shit on TJ cause he is unbelievably good, but he's just not in the same category.

I like Candide better but they are both really good. And have suuuuch different styles it's really silly to compare.
 
i actually think that candide better at park stuff but tanners better at urban rails. as far as bc jumps go tanner hands down. i havent even seen candide hit any true big mountain stuff and tanners nothing special in the category. so in my opion it comes down to wut parts of skiing u think are more crucial. overall i think tanners a tad better but its hard to say
 
how about we just compare some video parts later on this fall. i guarentee you tanner will blow everyone away in Show and Prove
 
they are different types of skiers. tanner has unbeatbale flow and can link tricks amazingly, but candide can do one massive hit and call it a run. you never see candide doing lines
 
first one to try it was some guy named chad. Dunno who stuck it first though. Some un-known from back in the day when they were judt throwing front and backs.

And, personally. juss personally, I like Candide's skiing more. I'm not even thinking about what they're like in person. Don't care about that.
