Swollen elbow

So the other day im just sitting in a chair when all of a sudden i feel this huge lump on my elbow. i look down and see that my left elbow has swollen to the point where it looks like a golf ball is under the skin. heres a pic

i kind of freak out and go the ER, they take xrays and dont really know why it happened, say its a symptom of lyme disease or STDs, but i have neither.

I do bike a lot, skateparks and dh and stuff like that, and i fall on my elbow reguarly but i've never had anything like this happen before. and i havent injured it in the last few days. maybe had a rough fall a week or so ago, but nothing super recent.

im going to see a doc tomorrow but im just wondering if this has happened to anyone else? based on my internet research, there is something called bursitis which can cause swelling in the joints as the result of multiple minor injuries. still though, there was no immediate injury that caused this, and i guess thats what freaks me out the most. im just sitting there, then all of a sudden my elbow swells up for no reason.

my main concern is not being able to bike, since its summer and i need to ride.

 
thats the thing though, there was no injury. i was just sitting there then BAM elbow swells up. i iced it right when i noticed it but didnt seem to help
 
its that bursitis (bursa are small fluid like things that lubricate the joint theres alot in your knee too) take ibuprofen will help too if you do alot of throwing too it may come back but rest probably the best right now
 
keep you arm moving, dont fully extend it or stretch anything, it will help a lot to absorb that shit.
