switch spinning

switch spinning is one of the most fun things you can do. First I recomend doing some zero spins before you go for it. Then start going switch and load up as you would a normal spin. At the lip throw but you'll already have your head to the side you are going to spin. And make sure to pop with both feet and it'll be smooth as hell

make sure you are confortable riding switch at high speeds and in control with your skis parrell, not in a pizza. If you go off a jump switch and slow, it'll suck, so make sure you're confident in your switch riding. I recomend trying a 180 instead of a zero spin first try.

yah im tryin to learn switch stuff too. im having lots of trouble approaching the jump with speed and if i do i snowplow off the lip and get no air...

yay i just learned how to switch shit

ok here are the steps

1)approach jump with appropriate speed.

2)when you go switch it will feel faster but get comfy with your speed aproaching jump

3)once you hit the lip wait until your skis are completyoff lip then turn your hips and spin 360, 180 or whatever.

4)try to spot your landing (i am working on that it takes a while) and land

I can do switch stuff too. I am pretty good.It just came natural to me. I reccomend bombing some hills switch to get over the fear. Then try some small tables. Your body should should just turn.

SKiing switch just down like a regular slope or landing switch is not half as hard as hitting a jump switch. I always have trouble with that, hit it too slow

be balanced before you spin, just think of it as a big 180, and then halfway throuhg the trick add another 180 and in a switch 3 you can always see your landing

when spinning switch should i keep looking over my shoulder the whole time or should i look forward right before i go, cause if i dont my skin is always sketchy?

is the actual rotation any harder switch? i mean how good do u have to be to throw a switch 3? i am comfortable doing normal 3's but nothing more. i would like to learn a switch 3 before going for a 5

switch rotatoin isn't any different than regular, xcept for the fact that you're starting off backwards. I'd start off throwing down 180's regular and landing switch to get comfortable, adn skiing fakie all the time. i practiced for three days just riding fakie, hella lot of fun and you get much mroe confident. 3's switch are just like regular 3's excepot for that fact that you land backwards. so practice that if you want less bruises

yeah start small and work you're way up. Wouldn't try to spin more than i could front ways ie: if i could only spin 360 normally i would try a switch 540

switch came very natural to me... i did a switch 3 before i ever did a natural 3 which is messed up. i started doing switch ones and got really comfortable with that and started to over rotate them and was doin switch 3s before the day was over. you just have to be confident and try not to be scared.

switch spins arent hard its just that most people when they first try em think to start spinning waay to early b/c they think they wont it around. Its all about patience when spinning switch the longer you wait the easier it will become but of course for bigger spins there has to be some motion of the arms to help get your body around. I started off with switch 1s and used to carve the lip cause i was afraid of spinning to late. Then I just waited longer and it made things a lot easier to work up to 3s,and so on. Just remember you don't want to get into the habit of carve off the lip to early this could cause diaster especially with a soft lip
