Switch or fakie

skiing backwards should be referred to as fakie not switch.

switch, is opposite of your naturally inclined direction of spinning.

I am sure most of you will agree everyone has one way their body likes to turn,

the other way feels weird and it obviously not your naturally inclined direction of motion.

boardsports have frontside or backside, but since we are facing forward we start at zero.

you can learn to be comfortable spinning both directions, but naturally

you are inclined to turn in one direction better than the other. Just

as almost all humans have one dominant hand, eye, and foot.

that is all relative to this.

Fakie comes from skateboarding, in line skating, and even bmx now.

I dont see how skiing has adapted it incorrectly, confusing it with switch.

what do you call a switch spin? left or right turn?

I've been skating for a few years when i started skiing and it was wired at the begining couse in rollerblading switch is what we here call unnatural and going backwards is called fakie But I'm used to it now.

I don't see why everyone is so fucking quick to dismiss the topic.
I feel the same way. I rollerbladed for years before I skied, and starting tricks backwards has ALWAYS been called fakie (i.e. fakie 3, etc). Doing tricks on the opposite side was always called switch. When I started skiing I always got super confused when people would say switch 3's or something like that, I thought they were talking about unnatural.
I eventually bit my tongue though and stopped caring. It really only makes sense to those that fruitboot.
