Switch in the Pipe...

Ok, I'm sure this was discussed before but I did the search bar and found nothing... but anyways...

I cant seem to be able to ride up the walls switch. Everytime I get close to the top I slide, I cant seem to get a good cut into it. Any suggestions or secrets to actually getting some sorta air switch?

im not a pro pipe rider or anything, but sharp edges are going to help you alot, and you got to carve just like you do regular.

With out seeing you try, I would guess you are staying too tucked up as you ride up the wall, which is absorbing all of your speed up the wall. Either watch someone really good a pipe, and see what parts of the pipe the tuck, or stand tall at, and when you are charging switch, really think about and over emphasize those parts, until you feel how to create speed out of the transitions.

I have a similar problem... I can make air when I look over the shoulder that's facing downhill... it works fine and then for example I can throw a switch alley oop.

But I would like to spin in the other direction, and for that I have to look over the other shoulder, and when I look over the other shoulder, I don't get any speed at all. I guess I need to practice more.

How do you guys do it? Switch 3 for example....

yea there are no real good pipe skiers around here in Sun Valley so I dont really have anyone who knows what theyre doing watch me....

but my main question is do u have to bend forward or lean up the hill more than usual? cause i've tried both and i seem to lose A LOT of speed when I do either....

I would say you bend forward some so you would be comfortable with popping out of the lip, looking over downhill shoulder would be best way to start, going real fast and having ballz to commit to it seem like a big part of switch in pipe.
