Swimming or running for the best work out.

as with the previous two knuckleheads, swimming, Nothing is better at getting you rip/torn/cut to fuck. Still living off the muscle I gained from it freshmen year in high school...6 years ago

You'll need a pretty strict regiment for it to work best tho. Join your swim team if you're still in high school.

I'd rather run and enjoy the outdoors than swim in a pool mindlessly filled with the pubes of strangers. I'm not a swimmer, anyone care to explain the benefits? I know it rips your pecs and cardio

Runners are mislead fools.

It may seem like a good way to stay in shape, but your knees take a hell of a beating.

Save them fer skiin.

Go Swim.

running will help with the cardio aspect, but swimming will make your body stronger overall, and running is pretty hard on your knees

you will never get big doing either.

Swimming is the best pure all body workout, though there is a a risk of overuse injuries - knee and shoulder

running is a better cardio workout but doesnt do shit for upperbody. it does help keep/gain your "bounce" though, but it can be hard on your knees and has a high risk for overuse injuries.

I joined my school's swim team a week or so ago, it seriously beats you out and works you so much harder than running, but I suck at both so I'm in no position to say that

Are you trying to lose weight or build cardiovascular endurance? If you're just trying to lose weight, cut calories and lift. Fuck running.

this is the only thing you have ever said that i have agreed with

OP, if you want to prepare for skiing, you want to lift lots of weight

go read up on how squats enhance your vertical leap, and improve all around leg usability

i do a 5x5 sl plan for this express purpose

now, if you want to do something cardio heavy, this is still an option, but you might need to tailor any of these plans for you

/fit/ and /r/fitness can help you

Swimming builds the hell out of your upper body making you top heavy, which isnt good for skiing. Running strengthens your legs- much better for skiing

Most likely swimming. Although for most competitive swimmers a running workout of the same caliber takes a lot less time.

Swimming and nordic skiing are the best full body cardio workouts that you can do. Swimming will help you look more built, but running is a whole lot less work.

Im a big runner, although both are great. Personally i find running to be almost meditative. If i feel shitty I go fora run, and i usually feel great afterwards.

I just got back from swimming a mile. Swimming is definitely the way to go if you have to choose between the two. Swimming is essentially a resistance exercise while running can hurt your body. Running, especially on pavement, is very abusive to one's body. Swimming is a whole body workout and feels great.
