we have our last meet for rec this weekend and i was wondering if there are any other competitive swimmers on ns. I swam varsity all through high school and im going to swim in college too. Who else swims and what events do you do?

Never actually competed in competitive swimming, however I do swim as part of my triathlon training and competition. So anything long distance really. 400 to 2.4 miles even though Ive never done an Ironman. Still gotta train the longer distances.

damn that would suck, i only do short distances and ive only done open water swimming like twice. not really my thing but props to you

Used to be 2nd in British Columbia for 200-100 fly and came 3rd at nationals in 4 by 100 medley. (I also came 4th in the 4 by 200 freestyle at nationals... out touched by .10 seconds) This is all in 16 and under though.

i'm a level 4 swimmer in the state of connecticut, meaning I can swim all alone in a pool without an adult. HA!

Yes I am!

My best events are 100 butterfly and 50 breaststroke. And I can still do sub 1min for 100 freestyle which I'm proud about!

I used to swim at national events and I swim for my university too. Swimmer girls are hot.

50 (.26) breast in relays, 100 (.55) breast individual, 50 (.23) free in relays also dove for the team cause im a bauss

Until they stop training and then they pack on the pounds.

I used to swim a bit but just club and interclub events. Wasn't dedicated enough to go training at 6 in the morning and again at night.

love broad shoulders and girl who can eat just as much as you, skin thats thrased from chlorine..yum. jk

used to. i was a spare at the '01 canada games, so i can't claim that i was quite an olympic hopeful or anything like that, but it was a cool experience nonetheless. my events were 100/200 breast and if i absolutely had to, the occasional IM.

I swam competitively like 3-4 years ago. I was very good at freestyle and decent at everything. Now all I can swim is 50 yd free and my time is like 23.5 or something.

I don't swim, but I just found out my girlfriend's cousin just made the cut for the olympic trials and is now on his way to Peru for worlds

Didn't check the date on this thread and got extremely excited when I saw this....AWALLACE needs to come back.

"Why you were banned: 5th ban gives you a month. If you're caught abusing your privilege of this site after that, expect an IP ban." Should've listened to this. When you're banned you're not allowed to post from NS from any username, alias included. Trolling members PMs and flooding forums was the last straw."

used to be...but i quit at the end of high-school which is now five years in the past.100m butterfly!

dude for real? that's sick man. i was there, got to participate in the festivities but never competed.

had some pretty good times at the quebec games and shit too. i have a pile of medals in my old bedroom haha. trophies from kids sports and then medals and ribbons from swimming and academics.

FUNTIMES.

I currently swim for Ithaca College. 50yd free 21.68, 100yd free 48.27, 100 fly 52.36.

Anyone who is looking for an awesome team, pool and program check out Ithaca, Just saying.

I am only a freshman in HS but I swim varsity. I do 50 free (high 25), 100 free (high 58), and the 200 free, 400 medley, and 400 free relays. All swimming free with similar times. How do you guys balance swimming and skiing. It is so hard to get up to the mountain when our coach wants us there for practice 6 days a week. Also if you swim, you now you can't do much of anything after a 8000 yard practice.

I swim for my high school, 100 breast at a 1:13 and 200 free at 2:09...i'm not good but i enjoy it

Gotta get a nap in after an early morning practice, then get a meal in once you wake up. Its hard a you are dead tired but it works.

bumping again for the end of my last summer rec season. finished strong with a 52.8 in 100 fly, 54.51 in 100 IM, and 52.73 in 100 back

used to swim up until like 6th grade.

I think I did freestyle, backstroke, and breast stroke. Back was my best.

Although my best friend still swims to this day (juniors in high school) and he went to state in individual and team

I wasn't a fan of the swimming part but I did diving, and did a few swim races on the side to help grab us points.

Sucked balls at swimming, killed it at diving. Actually I kind of sucked balls at diving too. I was good at throwing any of the stuff. But once in a while I would forget and tweak out a grab instead of a tuck or pike and get 2's for being out of position. Also had a tendency to cork on a couple of my dives.

Also, fuck swim workouts, that shit blows.

PS: Blunts and swimming for a sport, can't believe it's a sport, cause that shit rocks.

/okay

Swam across the lake and back at my camp yesterday which was a little over a mile. So tiring people who do that in the ocean are nuts.

yeah i swam for a long time. quit when i was about 16 though.

100-200m breaststroke and 200 IM

fun times. strangely free was my worst stroke. i think it's because i wasn't the fastest, strongest guys out there but i was skilled at things that were more complicated like fly or back and had a strong leg kick in breast.
