cheap surfing holiday

sea shell cove, south west fiji.

This place is the shit. You pay 60 fijian dollars a night and that encludes all food and boats out to the reefs in the morning.

The waves there are gnarly, wct went to cloudbreak last year, but you can only surf cloudbreak on a saturday unless you want to pay serious £££££

There are other breaks in the area, restaurants, minicloudbreak, desperations, swimmingpools. crystal clear warm water, no one in the water.

My boss just got back from Tavarua last week. He has some super sick footage of him shredding Resteraunts and Cloudbreak. It cost him $3,000 for 14 days, including airfare and all that. So worth it.
 
yeah if you want to shred serios do then go to tavarua (island)otherwise there are deals to be done on mainland with catching boats out to teh reef.

Anyone see the article from the latest surfing about it losing it's 'core' due to trips like these that make it easy to go to far off tropical locales when it would have been impossible years ago? Like, it's almost too easy now. (Not that I wouldn't love to go on a trip like that!)
 
that sounds like a sick trip man, but im SURE there are many cheaper alternatives than that one with many sick breaks too. my friend goes to bali for a month every year and stays in cheap hotels and just surfs all the time. he calculated all the costs, and found out that it was cheaper to travel and live in bali for a month than to live at home in the bay area for a month.
