over spring break, which in mammoth is from the 19th to the 28th, me and some friends are going down south to surf. ive never done it before, but i dont wanna be the same as the tourists who come here that i hate cause they know nothing. any advice on how not to make an ass of myself? p.s. i know my icon is retarded, but its a long story.

rent some long boards, practice getting up in the white water first, and make sure to stay out of the way of anybody riding a wave... as far as beaches go, where are you going? but go to a sandy beach (some are rocky and those are painful to walk on) and try one that's more or less a beginner's beach with less of a locals feel... then people will be nicer... ask around at shops, or let me know where you're going and i'll try to help you out
