What is a good forum for someone trying to garner an interest in surfing?

A solid forum is where an interest can grow into a hobby and ultimately a passion. I would not be the skier I am today if I wasn't on NS, or if I tried to get into skiing with say TGR. What is comparable surfing forum?

I go to school and live not far from the NH seacoast and I am looking for something to do in the fall and spring for before and after skiing. Hell even midweek went I only want to drive a half an hour after class.

Got stoked as hell from this vid I saw (on TGR.....)

No clue how the fuck to do anything on this fucking forum anymore. Maybe that vid embedded itself?

Anyway, I have a surf lesson through the school coming up, and I just want to get a foot in the door from lurking on a more than decent site. Any help would be rad

Thanks

Does surfline have forums? I feel like they do but don't know if they're any good.

Only surf group I was active in was a myspace page a decade ago. I know lol myspace but the group was actually sick. Got tips on shops and spots to check out in different parts of the country.

It's been 3 years since I've surfed :( I might even sell my board. Would love to get back into it but living 4 hours from the nearest coast.

It's hard to do the winter and summer thing. I know you can surf in the winter but not near any mountains.

I know I think I have a wicked bomber location being within a half an hour from the coast, and one and a half hours from my go to mountain, Cannon. Which I think is as gnar as NH resort skiing gets

I want some place that can introduce me to the gear and the beginner locations, as well as a good source for info on ocean conditions/how to interpret them to get some good surfing in
