Official press release and website for the Surface and Skullcandy collaboration!

Salt Lake City, Utah - June 2010 www.surfaceskis.com/skullcandy

Surface Skis, the fastest growing brand in freeskiing, which is the fastest growing segment in all of snow sports, is pleased to announce their partnership with Skullcandy, leader of core audio products. The partnership consists of three co-branded snow skis, poles and matching Skullcandy Icon 2 headphones for each ski graphic. An official launch party will be held this coming July at the Windell’s Ski/Snowboard camp in Mt. Hood, Oregon.

Surface Founder/President, Mike Schneider commented, “Watching Skullcandy evolve the last few years has been a huge inspiration to our brand. We are honored to have an industry leader like Skullcandy choose us for a collaboration of this magnitude. This collaboration is the first of its kind in the ski community and we are excited to see what emerges from here.”

"Skullcandy was born on a chairlift - This collaboration with Surface was just meant to be.. We are beyond excited to partner with a company that shares our same beliefs and passion for the snow. We hope everyone else enjoys the hard work that has gone in to this project as much as we will this winter." - Dan Levine / Chief Merchandising Officer, Skullcandy

two of the radest companies out there in my opinion. also easily breakable products unfortunately, in my experience. oh well, maybe combined their shit wont break.

That's also great for skiing and it's just another sign of the industry's growing popularity.

surface is growing too fast. well maybe not too fast but i hope they have enough management or else they are going to spread themselves too thin.

Odd that they refer to themselves as "the fastest growing brand in freeskiing". Who are they marketing to with that tagline? That is the last thing I want to see when I buy something. It is like someone telling me that anything I get from them will be seen everywhere, haha.

So your hating because they are good at what they do? How can you expect them to not grow? Is that not the point? If you think anyone is in this to make skis and stay broke you are sadly mistaken!

Those guys have their shit together, all of the growth you are seeing is no matter of luck! It is a result of years of hard work dedication and planning... my guess is growing the business was a big part of that plan ;)

The skis will be available in September and the No Time is $425.00 and comes with the headphones shown. Poles will be $50.00, and Shirts will be $25.00. Shirts are available Julyy 15.

You have a tough time reading apparently, haha. I found their press release to be odd since they referred to themselves as "the fastest growing company in skiing".....I did not find that they are growing to be odd, obviously they want to grow....obviously all businesses want to grow. But to throw that tagline in their press release is an odd statement to convey to your end user. I would toss that data out to investors, not your customers when you are in a creative field and individuality is coveted by many in that industry.
Also, how is that statement quantified anyways? Is there a matrix of private company growth that they based that statement off of? I would imagine Armada might challenge their self-imposed title along with a host of other growing brands in the ski world.
It just seems like a random, self-promoting, odd claim. Sorry for having an opinion...

will these new skis hold up or will you still be able to snap them in your hands before taking them on snow? They look sick though!

Im sorry i thought that was a press release not a sales pitch? And the "fastest growing company in skiing" is based of national and global sales statistics that most companies report during or shortly after the sia tradeshow...

The 9 lives were the problem ski, but the No Time (replacing 9 life) is supposed to be wayyyy more durable.

Surface is growing extremely fast. The only other company that I can think of that is visibly growing almost as fast as them is ON3P

This is pretty damn sick. I don't think something like this has happened in skiing yet has it? I'm sure Skullcandy could have chose any ski brand out there and chose Surface. Props to the boys at Surface for making this pop off!

YEAH IT IS!! and no this is the first collaboration like this in the industry.. Clearly surface shows no sign of slowing down the progression train!
