Surface skis

ive heard surface skis next year are suppose to be more durable from people that have used them.is this true

no offense but i doubt many people on here have skied next years skis... but i wasn't aware there was that big of a problem with durability. i have read only like 3 instances on this site of skis getting beat real quick but imo this stuff happens to all companies. i ski ll2's myself and the durability is bomber, best bases i have even skied so many rocks i've hit and they only have minor scratches.

i'll agree with that actually. i'm not sure they're more durable, but the finish quality on next years looks better. better grade sidewalls and all, i dunno, stuff looks stupid good. being produced in the technine factory now and getting a ton of attention instead of the bottom of the barrel in the elan factory so i can see a bump in durability.

Nine Lifes are the problem ski(and pricepoint, yet everybody seems so surprised that a price point ski breaks.. also 09 Watch Lifes('10s are completely different)). The other skis have been doing good. I've skied my One Lifes over lots of rocks, fallen trees, bushes, anything else along those lines and some rails, and now this weekend skied them at about 15-20 mph right onto a cement road with gravel(which ripped one off after a few seconds with the din set at 12), and all they have is some edge scratches. They're incredibly durable.

pretty sure theyre being made in a new factory this season... im most likely completey wrong but they where made in the elan(?) factory and now in the technine in china, whether thats good or bad i dunno.. graffics are sic kthough

All ski companys are constantly looking for ways to improve their skis quality! I have only heard problems of this years nine lifes and im sure it has something to do with the poplar core poplar is notorious for being extremely soft! i wouldnt be suprised if the nine life was all maple next year! Also i hear kids complaining about edge quality or durabilaty... Little known fact is that all ski edge material is produced at one of two places in the entire world! for the most part all ski companys use the EXACT same edge material! if you dont want them to crack detune them before you shred them...
