Surface skis on the clymb, should I upgrade?

Hey everyone, I have a question for you guys. I have afterbangs right now and to be honest I hate them. Too heavy, can never get going fast enough, and mine are too short for me. I see that there are some sweet surface skis on the clymb, so I was wondering if it would be worth it to upgrade to some No Times, Double times or some Next lifes. What do you guys think? I've also heard that they had some durability issues so I really don't know. Thanks for the help in advance.
 
I've been a fan of Surface since 2010. Although many people have issues with durability. I have never had any problems riding their lower end models.

That being said. I wasn't a very strong skier at the time, just making the switch form snowboarding. I heard that surface fixed their durability issues.

I've demoed many skis (rossis, line, k2 and of course surface ) , being a better skier now I can say that my favourite ski is definitely the double times. They're not a buttery ski but, great everywhere else.
 
The Blanks are a No Time shape without the graphics.

In terms of skis, what will you be riding? I love my Surface's, I've ridden Double Time's, No Time's, One Life's, the Joystick THESE, and one or two others.

Assuming you are riding park, the skis are kind of an either way split. The Double Time's kill it on jumps, where as the No Time's are definitely a rail shredder's best friend with how light they are, but each pair can go either way obviously. Both are awesome skis though, and I would highly recommend you grab a pair. It ultimately is down to what you think you will be riding the most.

Fun skis, horrible bases. I'm not going to say don't buy them, but I wouldn't necessarily say a pair of Surface skis is going to be an upgrade over your Lines.

The biggest problem in years past has been cores snapping, which they usually warranty. The bases, as I said, are horrible, but most park skiers don't care too much about their base material or structure.

Surface skis are great and super fun to ride on. But my friend had a oair of surface skis and he cut them and there was styrafoam coming out of the skis. Just food for thought
 
Damn thats sick! Surface kills it. i rode live lifes for my pow ski all last season and i loved them. I have no time for park skis this year stoked to try them out.

anyway i have 2011 double times (those are 2012s), although i havent riden them yet so i couldnt tell you about them.

and if you do end up buying, i would be so thankful if you sent me a pm first so i could send you an invite and get $20 when you buy. thanks man
 
the clymb is also offering the amplid antidogmas which might be another ski to look into.. I've heard a lot of good, and some bad on edges not holding in.
 
I just started using Surfaces this season and I must say the Double Times are no doubt the best ski you'll ever ride. Im a pretty hefty dude, 6ft 180 pounds, and these skis kill it. The directional taper makes it feel as though your riding a racing ski, it also cuts through crud like no ones business. Any questions or anything just pm me!
 
Literally, you were in the same situation that I was in! I had Line 166 afterbangs and I would go off huge step-ups with them and absolutely eat it every time. I'm basically a stick on skis, 145lb 5'11 and I'm on Surface Double Time 180 and they are absolutely phenomenal. they are 6 pounds lighter than the afterbangs. dude, get a pair!!
