Surf vs skimboarding

skim boarding ain't that hard. It takes some time to learn, but I have no idea about surfing. It looks fun as hell, and I've always wanted to try it, but I never had the chance.

 
thats kind of like asking what is better between skiing and snowskating. theyre both fun, but theyre no where near being in the same ball park...

I'am talking about skimboarding in waves, not on thin surfaces of water, I have tried surf and I have a skimboard but I wanted to know wich of the two sport is the harder, I have looked the skimboard video of a guy on ns and it's pretty similar to the surf except for the size of the board.

 
id say skimboarding is harder

and i think surfing is more fun

surfing is the bomb! I've been doing it for 10+ getting up on a board seems to be the hardest for people, ounce you get that the rest just progresses. I tried skim boarding into waves and ate royal shit. it is hard to run than drop this 1/4 inch sheet and bomb out and turn? all set

at that point I started to cry...mainly 'cause I sat on my balls
 
is this a serious question? really. surfing. skimboarding is something young kids do before they start surfing.

 
And you really think its a sport for kid, I think its enough difficult for you ..

Im not talking about skimboarding on thin surface on water but about going in waves, its similar to surf but the board is smaller, dont say its easy..

surfing is one of those things that it has to be a good day so you can get up on your board a lot. If the conditions are bad when you do it, you can just be sitting on your board for hours.

 
Surfing with a surfboard or a skimboard is different I know but the two sport are a little bit the same thing, your on a board that slides on a wave. I did the two sport I know what it's like. I only wnated to kow your opinion

if that guy was as good at surfing as he was at skimboarding itd blow your mind

surfing is just timeless skimboarding cannot touch it, but its still pretty sick

if I was going to ride a wave, I would definatly take a surfboard. Skimboards don't even have fins... carving wouldn't be near as fun.

 
surfing is so much more fun, i used to do both, but ill only skimboard if i cant find waves or someone to pull me on the wakeboard

yeah, I have watched the movies and seen people do it. The waves are pretty much all shorebreaks. So you get an extremely short ride until the waves crashes you onto the beach
