a) gain citizenship

b) feed their kids

c) get out of college debt

i really dont think there are many soldiers that sign up hoping to have to kill most of them probobly dread it, just a few fucked up ones that would probobly be kicked out
 
Dude, seriously there isn't much to say to you besides grow the fuck up. First of all, I would guess that maybe 5% of the people in the military have actually seen combat, much less killed someone. Second, it isn't fucking murder if the other person is shooting right back at you. Yes, the military makes mistakes and kills people sometimes that are probably innocent, but that doesn't mean they're all murderers. You are so incredibly ignorant you make me sick.
 
As someone stated before, there is a difference between supporting American troops and supporting the reason for them being somewhere.

I think virtually everyone in the States supports the troops, with the exception of maybe some crazy hermits who want to dissolve the government and let anarchy reign. However, a lot of people, around 48% last I heard, dont support the United States being in Iraq.

There is a difference between supporting troops and supporting a war. Go demonstrate to your senators and politicians if you want real change.
 
My good friend Aureliano has already been, and is being sent back. It's a scary thought. He wasn't the same person when he came back the first time, can't imagine how he'll be now :(
 
im shocked you people are more concerned about our troops feelings then the lives of innocent iraqis, i dont get it. they sigend up to go kill, and you people respect that!?!?! why not respect someone who fucking creates, respect doctors,respect artists,respect writers not fucking 20 yr old assholes who cant do anything other then join the army!

Go post some pictures of your courageous freedom fighter brothers driving truck bombs into markets and killing 400 civilians. Or bombing their own mosques, or beheading firemen and police.

Nobody uses uranium rounds anymore. We're not fighting other tanks here. But the insurgency is using chlorine cylinders against civilians, nail bombs, and would be using mustard if they were smart enough. Go grab an AK and join the fight, the world won't miss you.
 
Despite what you have seen in such glorified movies as Full Metal Jacket and Starship Troopers, people dont sign up for the military to kill people. Its easy to dream that up, but no, wrong. For a lot of lower income families, its the only way to pay for college and get job training for something other than pumping gas for the rest of their lives.

And I actually agree with you on that last point. Every American citizen contributes in some way to our nation (except lawyers), and that should be equally respectable. But with the exception of EMT's, not many people go to work each day and see someones head blown apart. Its a rough job. Again, if people actually separated supporting troops from supporting the war, controversies over this shit would end.

dude they strap bombs to their children first of all. and second i know a lot of people who have gone to iraq MARINES and they said that the worst thing they had ever had to do in their lives was shoot someone. NO ONE over there wants to kill, you obviously dont know anyone who has been there if you think they WANT to kill people.

hahaha, im getting a kick out of the kids in here that think they know somthing. yes the support our troops its the right thing to do. but all the kids that are in the united states and are argueing that are troops are bad, then leave. actually most of you kids that are argueing are proably still in middle school cause it seems like you dont know much, they are here to protect our country, i dont agree with the war in iraq, but our country still needs our troops

How about some facts other than spouting off?

Do you actually think we are killing more civilians than the insurgency? You're sorely mistaken. There are truck bombs suni vs shi'a, shi'a vs suni, every day, against innocent civilians. Hundreds of innocents a day, and this is iraqis killing iraqis. The US is sitting by and just trying to defuse the situation by getting them to stop executing eachother. If we kill someone, it is completely by accident, and we pay the families for the loss. It's not a cure, but we DO care and we are only trying to bring stability.

But believe what you want.
