I've been going to the gym for about 8-9 months i don't really remember my memory is quite blurry. i started out at 149 lbs now i am at 162lbs from excessivly working out and experimenting with different types of protein.

about 3 months ago i bought BSN's N.O Xplode. (yeah, yeah BSN is a rip off, some would say) it's been increasing my pumps incredibly and i notice my strength is increasing.

Today after coming back from working out, i did not take Xplode and i haven't been taking my Pro Weigh for about 3 weeks, i feel like shit, i'm all sore and cannot lift my normal weights, bench, curl, back ect. i have also not been following the cycle that N.O Xplode reccomends, after 12 weeks of use discontinue for 4 weeks. could this be the problem? not taking my whey protein consistently? has my body relyed on N.O soo much that i can't experience the fullest potential while i'm not on it?

And, it doesn't help that i'm on accutane,i'm taking it because i break out in the winter.

Also, my main strength is curling, i come back pissed like a bitch because of shooting pains from the side of wrists to elbow. Are there any wrist excersises you know of?

inb4 roids/cool story bro.

Reverse kettle curls will help strengthen wrists. And personally I'd say eating right and a lot is more important than taking supplements. In 6 months I've gone from 140 to 155 with no supplements.

for the wrist pains i suggest gloves with wrist straps that help support them and take some strain of ur ligaments/joints. I can't stand taking any of that other stuff though. Do it naturally and although you may not get results as fast you will feel way better and in the end actually be stronger/healthier for it. i guarantee that there are food alternatives for every supplement that you are taking right now and won't be all full of these fillers/preservatives.
Just my 2 cents worth

Jocks are worse than communists, hipsters, hippies, terrorists, etc. They also don't ski, GTFO.

Just because i like to take care of my body and have it sculpted doesn't mean i'm a fucking jock. you, get the fuck out of my thread.

I'd rather have a wretched dirty wank than live in a gym with a bunch of dregs. You are a jock, in denial apparently. But take it easy bro, we all know what happened to Narcissus.

Could cardio also be the problem?

Would it help release any kind of tension? i rarely do cardio except for 100m sprints.

ur outside of ur wrists r hurting becuase ur form is probably not good. Keep ur elbows in more, and ur probably doing too heavy of weight, or if ur doing straight bar curls, that could also be the problem, that tends to put alot of pressure on the outside or ur forearms. I reccommend to not to straight bar curls, and use the EZ-curl bar. Alwyas remmeber to keep ur elbows locked into ur sides though, its about form and quality reps, not how much weight u can curl, curling is the least important exercise for ur body, its just a show off muscle. But that being said, yes ur body is relying too much on the NO xplode, try a different NO supplement, i found that usp labs Jack3d, and Betacourt Nutrition's bullknox have the best effects for me as pre workout NO boosters. And never stop taking protein, its essential to get it inot ur body after ur workout, it helps ur muscle tissues repair faster, as well as glutamine, and other amino acids like leucine. Check out nitro peak protein, its low in sugar, calories, and carbs, so its basically straight protein without the shit that goes with many of the other companies, for instance muscle milk is popular becuase of the name, but it has one of the highest fat contents out of all the proteins. Hope that helps, and remember always change up ur pre workout NO supps, ur body gets used to each one of them fairly quickly.

Gloves are a must, get good ones though. Not the ones from Target. Seriously invest in good ones. Maybe wrap your wrists. I got confused about the whey protein part of the story, but as long as your taking it within the 20 minutes after an intense muscle workout, you'll be fine. Make sure you do that though, I built a ton of muscle once I started doing it. And now I'm trying to tone down because I don't want to look too ripped. I just wanted to loose my chest. And push-ups helped that so..

also as far as a NO, look into Controlled Labs. they make a great intra-anabolic supp called Purple INTrain and an awesome NO titled Purple Wraaath that feeds essential EAA's into your system and gives the infamous 'face tingles' and jack3d is also great. stay super hydrated and get at least 7hours of sleep a night, i would say 8-9 but being in college sometimes that's hard to do.

This, too. I seriously drink like two of those aluminum bottles worth of water a day. And drink a glass, like a tall cold one, when you wake up. Seriously, I am so awake after drinking one.

Are you seriously ragging on someone for being in shape? I already thought you were an idiot, but holy crap I can't believe you.

From the knowledge contained in this post, I gonna go ahead and make the assumption that you are ripped as fuck.

haha, ive been working out for almost 6 years now, and been going really hard for the passed 2 years, i just enjoy it when i see other ppl trying to improve their overall body health and wellness, which is why im trying to make a career out of it within the next 4 years, getting my BA in exercise science hopefully by next spring if not then the fall after that, and then physical therapy school for 3 years to get my doctorate in it. But if u want a workout routine or any other types of info on supplements or protein or diet just lemme know ill help anyone out

go to your grocery store pharmacy and buy vitamins A , B6 , C , D , E
take 2-3 of each of those a day, the vitamin C you can do a bit more if ya want it wont hurt you, all this will make you feel great and you will never get sick because of the vitamin c even when everyone around you has flu/cold all that bullshit.
I take 3g of vitamin C/day thats 3 1000mg pills one in the morning and 2 before bed.
As for diet just cut down the processed crap you eat and try making more of your diet unprocessed food, its really simple.

and yeah accutane as long as your on low doses like under 40-50mg/day shouldn't really have side effects with anything else. If ya wanna gain mass bro get some GOOD Quality protein, i dunno wtf your using now, ideally natural stuff, look up foods that are naturally high in protein and eat those, and like i said in my last post the more unprocessed food the better as processed food has less enzymes therefore less protein, and i take it since your on accutane you have acne so bad food is obviously bad for you, start with your diet bro its the root of all problems in everyone.
I took accutane for 3 rounds, stupid zits always kept coming back, then i just decided to eat healthy for a month, intially it got worst but i stuck with it and literally in a month my face started to clear up now im all good, also take lotsa vitamin C it helps to heal scars. and since your on accutane dont take vitamin A because accutane is basically very concentrated vitamin A.
Thats my .07 cents

i think i already lift too much weight for my age. JayDope has a point on the form too. and i don't have bad acne, rarely have any, i'm only taking it to stop it from coming back lol.

Popeyes is the closest suplement store to me and it's a hell of a lot better than GNC. Gold standars optimum weight get's good reviews, i'll look around more though.

for wrists: use the bar(without weights) hold it behind you just laying on your fingertips which are facing away from your body. do a curl with your hand untill you can't do anymore.

N.O also doesn't help at all considering it has high amounts of caffeine.

but yeah i eat properlly i would take vegetables over cake/muffins/candy any day.

+1 for what jaydope said, make sure you are holding the ezcurl bar correctly so the weight is rolling in toward you when you bring it up, if you hold the bar incorrectly then it will work against you and hurt your wrists.

people will debate this but I sometimes feel like taking a slow release protein/amino acid blend before bed makes me less sore the next day.

yeah it works really well, casein protein before bed, and whey in the morning with breakfast, as well as after your workout, so 3 shakes a day is what i do

fuck you.
so people who hit the gym and take care of themselves are douche bags? You're clueless if you don't think that 90% of professional skiers hit the gym regularly
I'm guessing you look something like this

Is taking accutane + NO + protein maybe fucking you up? I know accutane is really hard on your liver even with a normal diet, i can't imagine mixing accutane plus NO is going to make it any easier...
I'd probably check with a doc but either way you should be drinking a shit load of water with the accutane because it dehydrates you anyways, you should be drinking even more with the increased load on your liver
and of course listen to wahtever jaydope said because the kid is a beast

you're a moron. do you not realize how much working out can help you're skiing? building up your legs will save your knees in the longrun. muscle mass is key in preventing injury. working out makes you so much more stable and can really take your skiing to the next level. do you honestly think you can rip from open to close everyday without some leg workouts? a strong core will make you a way better skier as well. do you not realize that professional skiers are also incredibly athletes that put in some serious time in the gym?

get the fuck out of here. your comment was absolutely moronic and unnecessary. i guarantee my body will last a lot longer than yours due to me taking care of it.

wrist exercises = deadlifts. only supplements worth buying are whey protein, creatine and maybe a multi if you have spare change. the importance of eating healthy and eating lots is often underestimated by beginner lifters and as mentioned above rest is very important. beginners lifters should stick to compound movements only. you workouts should contain these workout: bench (incline), squat, deadlift, bent over rows, pullups, chins, military press, dips. stick to these workouts and make sure you are increasing the poundage as often as possible because that is how you are going to get bigger. once you have been working out for a year or two and have made significant gains then you can add some extra exercises into your workouts. remember that what works for someone may not work for you and unless you are juicing do not try to copy arnold, ronnie or jays workout routine. if you have any other questions feel free to ask me and i recommend you hang around the bodybuilding.com forum because there is a lot of useful information there if you search hard enough. (i gained 70lbs in about two years of working out/claim so i feel as though i am some what qualified to give some advice)

Get Jack3d, my friend brought it to his doctor and his doctor said it was safe, i take it before working out and it just makes you really focused
