Superunknown VI Finalists - Top 25

superunknown_submissions_thumb2.jpg

In a year where we've received far and away more Superunknown entries

then ever before (over 100 from around the globe!), it's also been the

toughest decision making process to date. So, this year instead of a

top 15, we've upped it to include the top 25 (though, 27 really), and

even that was a hard number to whittle things down to. For every

finalist, there was at least one other worthy contender that could have

taken their place.

So, without further ado, our top 25 Finalists* for Superunknown VI, in alphabetical order:

Will Berman

Martin Boulais

Yan Bussiére

Ian Compton

Niklas Eriksson

Ricky Hess

Andrew Holson

Frank GP

Sean Jordan

Chris Laker

The videos are playing like 3 seconds then just stopping, sites probably getting a ton of traffic haha.

you could put at least 15 of those edits together and think it was the

same person, same style, same music, same tricks, same locations.

compton should win for not using lil wayne or dipset, not having any

shots at keystone or park city, and not afterbanging everything like an

idiot, and having teeth bigger than anyone else.

I feel you. That being said, the talent is through the roof. There was a thread a little while back about the gap between pros and ams getting smaller...this proves it.

1. YAN BUSSIERE (you guys need to check his he completely slays and is really superunknown)

2. tim mcchesney

3. martin bullet

Luczkow is the only one who proved he can do it all and probably teamed up with the best editor as well with the most original shots.

McChesney proved to be the best park rider and some of his urban shots were ridiculous.

So little urban this year, except from the Quebec people...

My vote goes to Niklas Erikson, very few park rails which is great, could have had more urban, but man his jumping skills are off the hook ! Sick style, props to the other side of the ocean !

i meant to attach all of my last years footage to that video...but i couldnt get a hold of berman in time.http://www.vimeo.com/3260159 thats a link to a minute longer edit with old footage...it needs a password cause i dont know if its cool to post it up like this

I'd love to see Matt Luczkow take it, but there would be too much controversy about his lack of 'level 1 style' skiing so it's a shame that it won't happen

Well I sure as shit hope they're not looking for people to edit to really bad rap because I think I've hit my quota for the year. Holy Christ that was grueling, I feel bad for whoever has to watch these repeatedly to judge them, sounds like an easy way to go postal and shoot up your workplace. I guess they'll just mute that shit eventually but damn.

Highlights,

Will Berman has park on lockdown, including doubles. Just about everyone's vid was railtastic but Will can actually jump at a level that is beyond most of the other entries. Too bad 'bout da knee.

Marty Boulais same thing minus the doubles, but the COC rail stuff was fun.

Matt Luczkow can actually ski, that line towards the end was gnar as fuck, super impressive. Probably the best vid out of all of them. Long though, should've cut out the park.

McCrae Williams is a butter fiend. Watched that part of his vid a few times. Frank GP had a couple good ones in thurr too.

Whoever made Oskari Raitanen's edit is super good at it. Really solid editing and awesome camerawork throughout.
