where is your souce

Berman said somewhere that this year will be their last feature. Moving forward they're going to produce shorter form online segments like Good Company has been doing. I imagine Super Unknown will continue.

Even if they dont make movies superunknown gives people a chance of promoting themselves which might birng sponsors and stuff

Superunknown definitely stands alone without the incentive of being in the L1P movie, it has become such a large event with a park shoot and such. The exposure from being in the Finals alone is certainly worth entering the contest.

What incentive does L1P have to continue doing it in years to come? The biggest ones are brand recognition and signing/hyping up a new rider for the next couple of films. Those things obvious become meaningless if they are going to scale back their presence in skiing. Additionally, there are obviously financial and time costs associated with the contest in its current form. So again, what’s their incentive to keep that going?

Also, the exposure from the contest can be really hit or miss. Simon Bartik got very known in the last SU Finals, but that’s been kind of rare. A large portion of the riders that have been in the finals the last few years have already had a lot of exposure to their name and don’t really need to be there to get more. On top of that, I can barly remember who has even been in finals over the years.

I bet SU, at least in its current format, ends if Level 1 scaling back on freeskiing :( :( :(

I don't think they're scaling back just moving away from the once a year movie model that was originally based on dvd sales. SU will definitely continue to be a presence in the scene

You might be right, which is just kinda the way it goes, all good things usually come to an end in the ski industry.
