Superman Fronty

Hello all,

I've been thinking about trying my first superman front flip, I ski in the UK and one of our dry slopes has a kicker that I think is big enough to spread out a fronty on.

I've only front flipped smallish kickers so far but I think doing them more superman style on a bigger kicker will be less scary and easier to spot everything.

My question is does anyone have any tips for setting it? I can do them off tramps into foam pits, do you just jump forward super aggressively splay it out and tuck when it feels right? or is there more of a knack/technique too it? Heading to the slope soon and wanna try one out.

They seem fairly low risk as long as you don't tuck up super late and brain yourself.

Any advice, as always, is massively appreciated.

Just send it, what's the worst that could happen

Pretty much my thoughts, got pretty fucked shoulders so that always plays on my mind... looking for a shoulder brace and then yeah, fuck it and huck it

Push forward off the jump, push your self out into super man position and when you start to get inverted or it feels right tuck it around.

Cheers, that's kind of what I had in mind from doing them into foam off trampolines. My only concern is that you're going against the angle of the takeoff, is that noticeable when you takeoff or does it just kind of work if you spring hard... and do you need to push more off one leg or does that just help/style it out?

I've only ever landed them off a mogul jump and I was fine, you make them around a lot faster and easier than you would think (especially compared to a backflip) they feel kind of weird. You just have to use that extra angle to give you more of a push.

Hell of a lot easier that a normal frontflip tho

Thanks for all the tips man, yeah in my head they're easier than regular ones on a big jumps, frontflip experience is minimal but like I said in my head they don't seem too hard.

You say they come around faster, so you can just wait to reach the top of the arc/start turning down and just tuck it around?

Sounds good to me just worried about smashing my face into a dry slope from majorly under/over rotating... thanks for all the pointers hopefully will have a video of a superman fronty or an epic bail soon

Haha for sure, I remember think my first one was going to be all crazy and hard and shit and I just kind of plopped around to my Ass, it's on of those tricks that gets over thought then you do it and your like wow that was easy as fuck. IMO cattrack ones are hard as fuck tho, hard to get forward momentum

I suck ass at regular front flips but supermans are very easy

Gives me confidence, have got a couple normal ones around but they're so awkward. Superman and just jump forward into it.
