Super unkown is rigged with academy kids

i think that people selecting academy kids who have had a coach in shi is not fun to watch because of the spin to win. if you select rail demons like george brown and nogoggs would be a lot better to watch

i don’t really give a damn if someone came from an academy but the semi finals list was a lot more hype than the finalists

Definitely a lot better options in the semi finalists that had really good urban skiing and a lot of tricks to back them up. Unfortunately spin to win is still a major thing. But something a lot of people need to realize is a lot of kids are academy kid. Cal Carson was once one

Yeah man, its almost like this has been happening since the first Superunknown comp, you stupid fuck.

In the end, you will always disagree with what a panel of judges will think, it's completely subjective.

Seems like you can't even appreciate the fact they're really fucking good. Academy kids will always be able to spin and a lot of the up n coming ones are really good.

so hyped to see nogoggs in SU, his snow whale skiing was beautiful

Hype too see him in especially because HV parks are kinda shit. So it will be sick to see him rip a fire setup

It’s not their fault their parents can afford for them to ski more. Who would say no to that? Go ahead and like what you like of course. We like the same things in this instance. Just unfair to discredit others cause of their opportunities. I’m sure many of them realize what a privilege it is to go to a ski academy.

Park skiing is in a great place rn cause there are a lot of different flavors. So all kinda of people with different tastes can find something they enjoy. Thread woulda been sicker if you just said how sick Chris Boyer is without degrading anyone else.

I'd suspect most of your favorite skiers growing up were academy kids. Everyone loves an underdog/self-made story for the non-academy skiers, but academy's help create opportunities, and opportunities create success with time.

Skiers who went to academies are everywhere, the majority of street crews these days consist of academy kids that grew out of comps or were never good enough.

SU is supposed to be about awarding the best amateur skiers, so it makes sense that there's gonna be finalists that went to ski academies because academies produce some really good skiers, including skiers who actually have good style and trick selection (not just spin to win).

I think two things can be true at once. 1) being really good at skiing without coaching is very respectable. 2) there is no point in being mad at kids for taking an opportunity that we would probably have taken if it was an option.

I agree I would have taken that opportunity aldo but, I was saying it would be better to see smaller guys or idk I should have worded it better

No apology necessary, Dan is a failure for trying to hijack the thread. The fact that ski school kids can't outski jib ninjas is the point. Degrading is necessary to prove that point, even this site promoted fake over real.

The ski community should support truth, and shred, and laugh at the bullshit . Especially considering "color" names have been manipulating the scene with , said bullshit .

Cheers.
