I want to know if the general public actually knows what a Taurus SHO is... Since NS is the closest thing to the general public I can get without leaving my chair, I'll try this.

Who knows what a Ford Taurus SHO is and what do you think of them?

-Andy

Sure, I coulda stayed.

When I first saw one, I thought they were 'cooler' looking. Def. wouldn't buy one, cause it's useless to me. Not sure how much they go for or how good they drive, etc...

I think they are ugly now, however, 6-7 years ago I thought they 'cooler'.

the SHO are a pretty sweet car, only because of the burly v8. Other than that, it's still a piece of shit Taurus. Our family has one (98) and it's honestly a piece of shit. You'll spend more money in general upkeep than you'd planned on.

Honestly, Id just get a camaro or a firebird if you're looking for some muscle.

they were cooler back in the day, but definately better than current tauri. I'm not sure if it was all of them, or only a certain year had a different motor than the other SHOs, but they were actually pretty fast for what they were.

By now most of them are probably falling apart or close to not running because of higher power output and poor build quality.

let me clarify. i'm talking about the Yamaha V6, 5speed models made from 89-95.

The motor in them was described as 'legendary' by many. Called the Yamahammer in the SHO circle.

(I bought one btw, 92 5speed, frost silver, 90k miles, perfect condition)

I'll toss in...

My friend has owned 2 SHOs. One '89 that was quicker, but Ford build quality hampered the cars existence. Now he has a 92 I believe. Not as fast, but still a powerful car nonetheless. And the 92 is in really good condition.

Good engine in them, i'd still be hesitant to drive one just because it's an early 90s Ford.

The only one of you who knows what they're talking about is Andy. I have 2 SHO's currently, one 92 and one 93, both nice. The 89-95 SHO's have the Yamaha V6, one of the greatest engines ever made. The 96-98 SHO's have the Ford V8 which do have many problems. But the fact that the SHO is a 4-door sedan that can still kick any 2 door civic or rice rocket's ass if awesome. But nowadays with more technology newer cars are coming out with the same amount of horsepower.. and the SHO is fading. But Yes, I know what a SHO is..

I was thinking I should get a SHO and make sure it looks like shit and say to some kid that thinks his civic is all badass if he would want to race for $20.00 and since it is a tarus he thinks he can smoke me and i smoke him and have $20.00 in my pocket I could make some money doing that.

Hey everyone I have a Downhill bike for sale a Intense M1 it has XT and Race face componets plus brand new Monster T this is a no joke bike and Im selling for cheap!!!!

I drive a 1993 white (with the dope white wheels) SHO. so much fun to drive. god i love my car. i know that camaro will destroy me, but its still so much fun to drive. its so funny to see some goldearringed kid try to smash on me in his bmw. and then i make him cry and hes just really confused as to why his 35000 dollar car is seeing the taillights of a ford taurus. yes the engine is beautiful and the sound of it will bring a smile to all. i especially love it when girls get in my car and they are like i didn't know tauruses are fast?

its a juiced up taurus with a jap engine?. looks like a taurus...dual pipes...SHO on rear bumper. even if its souped i think tauruses are gross though. same with miatas! ha/jk

I love the fact that I can pick on 'Stang owners. A SHO will take a LOT of cars from a 30mph roll. I know for a fact I've taken a 92 Stang, a 350tpi Camaro, and a 2002 WRX, all from a 30mph roll. I actually like the way mine looks too. I had the MX-6 for looks. Plus.. who could argue with the beauty of whats inside.

i heard the problem with the SHO is that its pretty damn heavy. a light car with less HP can easily compare. i gotta go...Vin Diesel is coming with the civics.

They arent that heavy. 3200lbs isnt that bad when you consider than a Newer Stang is right around that weight. Plus the engine is easy to mod.

im not to knowledgable about the actual SHO, but i have worked in a shop for the past 6 months, and all i can tell you is i se a fuckload of tauruses comming in for the most mind boggling problems that ford could have easily prvented, but didnt. and i HATE working on american cars. i mean god, fuckin they make them so they an put them together in a minute, but to do a head gasket you might as well go buy a new engine cause it will cost the same after labour.

The SHO isnt a Ford motor, its Yamaha built, which I've already stated. Its actually fairly reliable. But if something does go, its pretty tough to get fixed. However, I can do everything up to a tranny replacement myself anyways. So I'm prepared.
