Sunshine's Park - Fail

I had boycotted Sunshine all year until this weekend.

I blew the dust off my Sunshine card and used it for the first time this year.

Had a decent day there, but WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON WITH THE PARK?

I've been in CGY for 5 years, and the SSV Park is worse than I've ever seen in.

It's so small time, I wanted to put diapers on to ski it. Tiny jumps and tiny features.

What gives?

Just sayin'.

the jump in the bottom park is amazing (was amazing) when i was there 2 weeks ago, got all my tricks i wanted to do all season in about 2 hours

Not enough credit for the guys working on the park. I mean yeah it's not the best it's been but they're still working it.

looking forward to hitting the new jumps in the upper park, i will be there tomorrow, hope its a nice day, i want to jump!

well the new xl jumps in the upper park are great, if you could get speed for them...

you guys need to either take off some of the kick on the first jump or make it longer, OR make the 2nd jump a few feet shorter. after taking the first deep i could barely make speed for the 2nd and i knuckled a few times until i pre popped the first jump like crazy and then landed sweet spot on the second.

they would be the best jumps in alberta if the speed was bettter, it sucks not being able to trick the first jump, a little wobble and your screwed

blake is going to try and do something about that tonight i believe. i only work trail crew so i dont have any say into what goes on in the park.

blake is the supervisor and i can guarantee you he is trying his best. obviously he doesnt like seeing everyone skip the first jump and just hit the second. its been a rough year for those guys and he is doing the best he can.

I appreciate they've got a lot on their hands with everything that's gone down this year and that you're not on park crew but i'm going to ask anyway in case you can pass it on....is there any chance the DFD is going to be set up at all this season? It seems odd that one of the nicest and most stock rail features isn't going to see the light of day at all.

I thought the park had some nice rails and jibs, the jumps are hard to hit (took first deep and cased second bad every time) but its still pretty fun.

they should just take out the first jump and make the second one huge or make it like it was a few years ago with a big mound for in run and a bigger jump just wax your skis and tuck and you will be all good

also could you guys PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE groom the park for the weekend???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I know you have some fresh snow, but actaully being able to hit jumps, especially on sunday which is supposed to be warm and sunny would be alot of fun!
SSSSOOOOOOOOOOOO to sum up, please groom the park!!!!!!!!

Did you guys work on the second jump, I really fucked my knee on it monday. First jump was really nice though and the rails are prime.

I was up there yesterday, the rails were fun but I took them forever to open all the jumps and the speed was too slow to hit the XL's. I ended up hitting a backcountry jump the rest of the day.

I love the park, just seems like the park crew are taking longer than they should be, on Sunday they didn't even open any jumps other than the smalls till 1, and only a couple rails were open before then, they could have at least raked a few lips quickly so there was more stuff to hit till the jumps opened

i heard that the second big jump is big enough to throw dubs on ..is this fact true or false, they said you would have to land half way down or maybe deeper to accomplish such a trick

I can't dub, but I can see a kang definitley being doable off it, it's the biggest jump I've ever hit and you have to set rodeos soooo slow

i was shaping jumps one day and we were watching 2 snowboarders throwing doubles so yes i would say it is possible
