Sunshine opening

Fair enough, sounds like you've had some bad experiences there, I guess a lot of those are the guys who come into Banff for the season just to party and aren't really in it for the skiing or boarding.

this is how much snow is on goats eye

I hope sunshines park is good this year, they had fun stuff last year, they just need to learn how to set stuff up. Longer landings on their big jump line would be nice and better jumps onto rails (super kicky jumps on to rails suck) would also be a big improvement. Oh and that gay channel gap could be set up so much better. It could actually be really sick and not just a park eye sore that's funny to mach 10 into once and awhile to make its flat landing.

this is key. you can't have big jumps with tiny landings i hate overshooting everything at sunshine.

ya they need longer landings i hated overshooting those jumps the speed was always retardedi saw some snowboarder get destroyed by overshooting and he got helicoptered away

YES! longer landings are key!

They could easily make a sick true table type jump in the bottom park that would be really fun, and it would use less snow that the stupid transfer thing, or do a fun little 2 jump line like they did 2 years ago, but please, longer landings this year sunshine!

Yea no kidding, half the reason you need so much speed is because it's way to far into the flats. They could make a sick 60 (dare I say 70) foot table or step over there and you wouldn't need to skip everythiong thing in the lower section if that moved the whole jump set up up hill a bit.

2 lifts open on opening day? If last year was a gong show when standish, wolverine and jackrabbit where open then this year might be a double gong show.

wawa standish and strawberry will be open, as well as wolverine and jackrabbit (which kind of have to be open)

According to the website, Strawberry and Wawa on friday. Then Jackrabbit and Wolverine on Saturday. No mention of standish.

16 cm's overnight!!!

I will have to get out to Sunshine soon when I get a chance.

Someone is going to have to show me what's up.

I don't know where I got this...Sorry to get you guys going.

Kicking Horse - 10cm past 12 hours

Lake Louise - 9cm past 24 hours

Sunshine - 22cm past 48 hours

Those stats must of melted together to equal 16 cm.

I begged my boss to give me thursday off so i could go then sunshine changed opening to friday now i will watch opening day from the live webcams.

we were ski packing up there today. it is like thigh deep in spots but is still pretty sketchy. we def hit our fair share of rocks today. we were only on angel, and i dont think they are opening angel.

wawa was alright yesterday on bird cage but same thing, deep in spots but still sketch.

So stoked, got another 4inces or so in Canmore overnight, does anyone know what time they open tomorrow?

UPDATE 12 p.m.: Greater than expected snowfalls this week mean that Sunshine Village will be able to open a fifth lift by midday Friday.

The Standish high-speed quad is expected to open by noon, joining the NEW Strawberry Express high-speed, and WaWa, Wolverine and Jack Rabbit quads, which are scheduled to open at 9 a.m. That brings the total number of accessible runs to 35 for an epic opening day.

Even better: Reduced prices for opening day will be in effect.

Skiers and riders are advised to use extra caution on opening day. Unmarked natural hazards do exist.

Mother Nature has delivered in spades the last three days, delivering 41 cm of fresh pow. That brings the snow pack on Thursday to 72 cm, and still building

*FIST PUMP*
