Sunshine conditions

Hey just wondering if anyone's been out to sunshine this season is there any sort of park? And any decent runs open

i`m heading up on saturday. i guess the park crew set something up on strawberry? idk what though (yet)

I'm (hopefully) heading out tomorrow. Probably won't spend any time in the park, but it will be good to be back on skis. Too bad they haven't had any snow this week, but it should be warm...

i was up for opening weekend. there's a few rocks up on angel but they're big enough to spot easily and jump over. tons of side booters all over the hill. the strawberry park is pretty sick for early season. i believe it goes:

left side, 15ft down flat box, 15ft propane tank, 25ft flat tube, that sketchy tube with all the dents, and a small up rail. on the right side it's a bunch of boxes until the sketchy tube mentioned above.

Yup. Definitely a good time today, even if it was a bit flat. Snow on Wawa was pretty good early on.

All in all, a good first day of the year and good to shake some of the rust off. my legs definitely have some catching up to do.

Good to knwo I'm heading up on the 6th see any of you there?

They have a new side kink (zig zag) rail they are setting up soon I assume the parks going to be expanded or moved real quick.

With all this snow standish should be open soon which will be a ton of fun!

Due to shitty oil prices I should be off work and around the area (SS/Louise) for the entire month of December!

I never thought i'd see the day but Sunshine have actually spent some decent money on a load of new features for this season - 14 new rails and boxes including a triple kink that can be set up as DFDF, FDFD or UFUF.

I guess someone higher up has finally realised that Louise and Norquay have been kicking their asses on the park front.

Was there today, they had some lips and landings (small-medium sized) formed on the upper main park. With the progress they are making up there it looks like they will have that opened within a week.

Was at Louise a few days ago and they had nothing setup. Yes sunshine is defiantly upping there game !

louise has a nice little mini park now with some small jumps and a bunch of chill jibs

it was so much fun today, everywhere except goat's eye. they only just opened goat's eye and it showed, i only skied one run, there's way too much shit to catch your edges on right now, rocks and little tiny trees that could throw you all over the place. the snow on the rest of the hill is pretty nice so far though, tons of fun to be had on standish and wawa. all of the staff this year seem super stoked too, it's dope.

Was there yesterday, second jumps actually quite nice but short landing easy to overshoot (3-4 speed checks needed between jumps). Two 7 jib lines on both sides of jump line, they are both pretty fun, some more technical jibs on left side line.

All and all really fun, some work could be done with the flow on jumps but it's better then typical ssv where it's almost impossible to boost second jump due to lack of speed

Was just at Sunshine and the park is on point, lots of fun stuff and everything was really well upkept. I didn't ski the dive but goat's eye has some good snow in the trees and Wawa had some fun side hits to boost.

Cheers

Does anyone know what the conditions are like in the dive? seems a little sketchy how early they opened it considering the poor depth.

I've been in there a fair amount since it opened and it has generally been skiing really well. Plenty of soft turns higher up and a mix of crust, debris and windblown pow lower down. It is very rocky but mostly in the usual spots so easy to avoid if you know where to pick your lines. Bre X entrance is fucked and the other top ridge entrances are spicy. Also all the features are on the large side right now due to the lower tide so a lot of the normally fun drops are pretty intimidating or have take-offs/landings that are just too rocky.
