Promo-snow. You can tell by the video that they were rocking primarily air in the mixture with very little water thrown in. There was little to no snow and the equivalent netted the result of a strong frost.
Likely looking to capitalize on the crowds in town for the fall festivities and their pass deadline is tomorrow too. Get a little buzz going, which is working for them.
As for K, I know they want to get this season going. As soon as things are favorable for them to pop the valves on the guns, they will. Don't expect a marketing blow though. When they fire-up, it will be them going for open. Lines have been tested last week. Haven't seen the compressors around, but also haven't looked for them in particular, so they may be up.
Lots of factors in the early season to snowmaking too. You have warm water temps currently compared to average which results in longer freeze times for the droplets. Humidity is also a major factor. Ground temps are also running a little above as we are coming out of a stretch of above average temperatures.
Time will come though, and it's a good sign that someone is blowing their system some!
