dont like starting these threads because usually there is a ton of info around, but searched up and can find barely anything on sun peaks.

just accepted a lifty job there as an instructor i was working with this season couldnt stop raving about it.

have a couple of questions and any more info you could give me would be great.

being a completely ski in ski out village im assuming finding an apartment for the season would be quite hard/expensive. im leaning towards staff accomodation.

is it really as cruisy and family orientated as everyone says? with the 2nd most skiable terrain in canada surely there would be some interesting terrain around?

any nightlife? after doing a couple of seasons in whistler i want to get away from the aussies and how commercial it is. but still want to know if theres a few places to go out and get messy.

any other info would be sweet

cheers

We used to go to Sun Peaks every spring break. Yes it has a reputation of being a cruisey family hill and has a lot of mellow terrain, but what that means for you is that you'll have the good terrain completely to yourself. It may not be my favourite hill but I was never bored there. Zones like the Green Door area are super fun when they get new snow. If there's enough of a base Freddy's Nightmare and Challenger are great and I have never seen another person on them - but these take you to the bottom of Burfield so be prepared to spend a lifetime riding the chair back up. There's lots of bump runs (like the washing machine runs on Morrisey) and gladed areas to explore.
