Does anyone know anyone who might be looking to add some people to their share house / looking for more?

I just moved to Denver...25 yr old love to ski plan on spending a ton of time in the mountains. Work in denver.

I'm looking to buy into a share house with others around my age....anyone know of anyone looking to add people/willing to add people?

More than happy to meetup for a drink or whatever

I live in socal and do this at Mammoth. It allows me to ski 30-40 days a year, although there is a ton of driving.

You might want to go to the Teton Gravity Research forums and post this. There are lots of people there in Denver who do exactly this and could probably help you out. It is an older crowd, so more weekend warriors in your situation. You might also want to check Craig's list.

With aging NSers, this might actually be pretty good on here too.

I wonder if there would be enough people interested to start up a new forum for it?

how do you go about that? I live in socal too and I'm tired of splitting a tiny motel room with 5 people every time haha

I think that could be the start of a new section all you need is a handful of people to make it under $300 for a place. Also getting people that use it during weeks an a few that will use it on weekends makes it even cheaper. Almost like a winter time share. Let's make it happen so I can be a weekend warrior first year I have to work year round ;(

idk if it would require a whole new section, my bet is that the section would be dead most of the time and no one would see the listings

The Summit County housing market is super tight, and it only gets tighter as winter approaches with seasonal employees moving in. I know this isn't a very helpful post, but just wanted to let you know that you'll want to lock something in as soon as you can.

We have a group in Mammoth that rents a ski lease every year. It is 385 a month, so it is pricey, but when you think of what a decent place in Mammoth would cost during the xmas to New Years eve it makes sense. I take two one week trips a year and go about 3 weekends a month so it makes financial sense. Plus, you don't have to plan when you go up. If all 5 couples go for the same weekend it is crowded, but that has not happened yet.

There are other leases which are less expensive, but they tend to be more crowded. That is really not a big deal, it is awesome to have a place to crash whenever you want and if you intend to go often it is almost essential.

For you guys thinking about doing this the first thing to do is to find a group and figure out budget. These types of setups are very common in Tahoe, reasonably common in Mammoth and I would assume there are some in Summit.

It really is the way to go if you want to be a weekend warrior and live more than 90 minutes from your mountain, even though it is pretty pricey. We pay quite a bit but if you are willing to deal with crowds you can drop the price quite a bit.

Same here...first season out west living in Denver. I'd be in to buy in up to $400 a month

threads for looking into this next winter.

Randy

Check "The Edge" @ Copper. I stayed there last year. Is $350 a month and all you have to do is "work" as a volunteer a couple of days in order to apply as a Copper Employee.

I hope it helps

I think there would be a lot of people interested in something like this. It might not get much traffic atm (summer NS) but being able to use NS as a resource for finding a place to ski bum would be fucking amazing.. Remember that NS hood house thread? Hugely popular and works out.
