Heading out during the beginning of April for a few days with my van Diane and am looking for a place to park overnight near Copper. Is this even possible at this time? If so, what are your guys' recommendations as far as free overnight parking in the area.

Also, I'm looking for anywhere where I could score a shower, places to get cheap food, cheapest gas around and after skiing activities. I'd love to hear your guys' input and advice.

Thanks again.

Copper mountain has its own gas station across the street, deff. most accesible for gas and cheap food. As for a place to park, i'm not sure about the parking lot but always see some some rv's in the lot across the road. Also if you drive up highway 91 about 5 mins, theres a huge pulloff on the side of the highway im sure you could crash at for a while. I live in Leadville and i would offer to let you stay here but im going to be outa town from april 1 through easter. Hope this helps.

pretty sure they allow you to park however long you want in the free lots close to the highway in Copper, I've always seen cars in those lots that have obviously been there for weeks (covered in snow, etc...).

Yeah im pretty sure your'e right, I have been passing quite a few of the same cars like every day for weeks at a time.

just park at the free lot at base of copper... just make sure you park in back along the snow piles... there have been a few campers there all week and every spring when im out here

if any of those spots dont work, you are allowed to park overnight in any walmart parking lot. there is one in frisco, less than 15 minutes from copper.

This is NOT true... almost any walmart parking lot... but the one in friso has no overnight camping signs on all the lightpoles
