Summer Skiing Pastime?

Would getting rollerblades and shredding the skate park be a good pastime for skiing? The season is nearly over and I don't want to lose all my game!

Don't be a dick.

Roller blading is fun, but be prepared to get wrecked a few times. I

f you live anywhere near a glacier, go fuck shit up. If you plan on going there enough you can build a rail and leave it there or wait til some one else does.

Summer set ups are a lot of work.

Long boarding is fun as shiiiiiiiiit.

Hiking, biking, camping and fishing are all good fun with some buddies and some beer

Mountain Biking. I like as much if not more than skiing. Reason its free besides the bike, another reason is that I see myself progress way faster than I see myself progress at skiing. I

Two summers ago I was on some shitty bike and now I am on a Cannondale with a carbon lefty and all sorts of carbon stuff and racing XC.

Just get into it it's a blast.

Just keep skiing?

Newschoolers. Trampoline, skateboarding, and just being outside will help. Do stuff to get in better shape for next winter. And if you have the willpower and enough time, build a backyard setup!

hiking's my favorite thing to do in the summer because you can still be in the mountains

im definitely getting a pair for the summer.

the last few years i tried to pick up skateboarding but found that trying to learn it at age 19 after never really doing any board sports was just about impossible. hopefully blading will be easier since its closer to skiing and hockey

Mountain biking is great, and it is a great way to stay in shape. I have been racing for a couple years and it is a lot of fun.

Just do something that you enjoy, keeps you in shape, and is packed full of adrenaline and terror. Although completely different, if you mountain bike on challenging courses/terrain, hit a motocross track on a dirtbike/ street race a motorcycle, longboard down mountain roads, or rollerblade, it will keep your confidence up come ski season even though they are completely different. Just keep challenging your comfort level and park skiing will be easier to get into. Doesn't take long to get the hang of it come a new season, and even rollerblading won't keep you on top of your game since skiing is still different.Plus, then if something happens to you and park skiing is no longer an option, you will have no problem adjusting to something new.

Rollerblading for sure... but generally speaking all recent blading vids suck and are gay. Look for vids at least 10-20 years old. Just my observation.

This is so true. I got super into XC mountain biking last year, I had been other years but couldn't make a lot of climbs or rock gardens, always ended up walking them. Now I rip through them with ease; made skiing so much easier for me. Threw my first inverts this season and I'd largely credit it to my confidence gained from biking.

dude straight up, get some blades they're fun as fuck. if you have any history with hockey and such it should be fairly easy to pick up the basics of riding around, after that its the bees knees once you start stomping tricks.

Whenever I have alot of time on my hands. I'll hike up a hill and roll boulders down the side of it, watching them violently crash into trees is like seeing a screaming gaper rip through the park before meeting their death on the edge of a lip. Kind of amusing...but build a summer set up for sure.

rollerblading is super fun and wayyy easier than skateboarding. I just started this spring, and I am having an awesome time. A trick that most videos don't point out, is that when you're skating transitions make sure to have one foot in front of the other, it makes keeping your balance through the transition way easier, and also remember to pump through transitions to gain speed and keep speed. The best trick tip series I think are the AMALL trick tips on youtube, they are super helpful and have trick tips for almost every single trick.

Get a downhill mountain bike and you will get balls of steel but it comes at a price of around $2,000 all said and done.

Blades are the shit. You can get legit freestyle blades or get thrift shop blades that don't have a back brake thing and take out the middle two wheels

Yeah if you live near a river, theres usually a gorge down somewhere, and cliff diving is fun as fuck. Gets the adrenaline pumpin.

On second thought, I would do Parkour / Freerunning or else B-Boy'ing (breakdance) if you have the will/ability.
