Summer Skiing Locations

If you go skiing or hiking somewhere theres snow this summer, post it here. Jump locations would also be wonderful.

To start:

Mt Baker - July 8th

Went up with a few friends to the ski area on the north side. The upper lot and visitors center was still closed, so we parked in the lower lot and walked up the road with our gear. After looking around a bit for the supposed step up, we just decided to find a nice hill and build something. From the visitors center (before the upper road starts doing switchbacks). On the Mt Baker ski area map, I'd guess we were probably off to the right, right about on the out of bounds line. You could see the little visitors center pretty clearly from our jump, and a trail went above it. We got there kind of late, so it isnt very large, only about 20 feet or so, but is still big enough for some 3's and has a great landing for 1's and switch 3's. We plan on going back there and maybe building it up a little larger and wider, or trying another location that looked alright nearby.

liek two weeks ago i went to hood.

it was 104 in govy.

park was decent.

theres a grenade shop in the station next to the shamrock with cheap prices.

being sick is gay as hell. I live in Govy and I've gone skiing like 5 days in the past month.

But I am on antibiotics now

soon it will be on

that step up is kind of inbetween the parking lot and grandma's house/blueberry cabin/maybe the visitors center you were talking about. the cabin place is right next to the first switchback. probably the easiest way to get to the step up (if its still there) is to turn right on the road when the road takes its first left turn under the home run gap. the jump might not be hittable, but i bet its still there.

i was at hood this weekend, they have some sick stuff in the upper public park, which was well kept for the abominal snow jam slopestyle, with jumps about 35-55 feet, they said they were going to leave it up as long as they can afterward.

chris, whyd you have to be sick?? we couldnt party it up with you, haha. get better thgouh, you werent sounding too good on the phone

I'm planning another trip up to Baker this comming saturday (July 29th). If anyone wants to come, meet us up there and we'll be able to build something larger.

i've been going up to the Tipsoo Lake area on Chinook Pass most weekends this summer. Until about 3 weeks ago there was enough snow for a 50 - 60 foot booter on the slope right after the second Tipsoo Lake viewpoint parking lot. Now that the snow's thinning I've just been setting up my portable rail outside the parking lot.

Repeat, Baker is on for Saturday. I'll be in the upper parking lot with some crappy ass silver 1080's, so feel free to introduce yourself if you are up there. I wont bite or act all giddy to see you (except if Kevin shows up, damn his thighs make me tingly inside!)
