Summer Skiing at Copper?

So I was just reading that just passin thru article and I think it said something about on snow skiing at copper? Is this true do they actually have summer skiing there. Just curious.

If you're a camper at Woodward @ Copper you have access to the on-hill summer terrain park. Besides that, no there isn't.

Yessir! We're blowing snow all summer and thanks to the cold weather a lot of the snow from winter hasn't even melted yet.

Are you shaving ice like they did at the 99 x games or are you actually blowing snow?

We're actually blowing snow. We want to give campers a legit experience. It's not going to be beautiful powder, but you can count ice out.

Sounds sick! but expensive. I imagine its one of those setups that blows snow inside a cold chamber then sends it outside?

it still freezes at night in the summer much of the time that high in the mountains

The weather has been abnormally cold... which has actually been a blessing. Copper still has snow on even the base of the mountain.

yes this is very true. there has been a lot of super late season snow falling here in the mountains of colorado. Cold temps along with a lot of moisture.....= perfect setup for copper. question: what time are the 2 hour sessions running from ? just wondering?

woodward at copper looks so LEGIT!! i live close but dont have the money to go there for summer camp.

all of that aside, if i remember correctly from last time i was there near the end of the season one of the coaches said ya'll are done doing public drop-in sessions at the indoor facility until the camps wrap up in july or whatever...true?

No we're still going to have drop-in sessions for the public all summer, the schedule is just going to change a little bit.
