Summer setup speed questions

i finally got the pvc for my main rail and i'm wondering if you guys think i'll have enough speed to keep it as is or cut it down from 14' to 10'. the drop to 6' rail is just an extra thing i might add on that's not part of this rn. also i don't have the lumber for the feet/base that's why it's on cinder blocks as of rn. anyways you think i'll have to get lattice fencing or am i completely fucked or no worries? obviously need to get the rest of the turf aswell

also here's the pretty much finished bench you guys weren't big fans of:

If I were you I would at least double or triple the height of your initial drop in. Your lip looks fine. Maybe throw some plywood at the base of it to make it a smooth transition.

drop in height isn't really changeable thing rn. i will do that after i test it with it all setup if it really doesn't work at all but that's a big thing to change and i don't have any extra of what i used for it last fall

Chances are you are going to lose a bunch of speed from the drop in transition to lip…it’s way to long and unless you have Msnow it’s going to be too slow…move the drop in down or jack it up another 2-3feet. You gotta do some testing with a summer setup, you never know it might work

what about 8 feet of lattice fencing?

i moved the lip backwards as far as i could without it being on the slope and i'm gonna get plastic lattice fencing and make rows of it down 12' then it'll be just turf. i'm also probably just gonna cut the rail down to 10' but idk about that yet. think it'll work?

I definatly wouldn't cut your rail shorter, you will probably regret having a short rail later once you dial the setup in. Obviously you need some more turf to fill in the gap but it seems like moving the drop in closer to the lip would be helpful for speed, If the drop in structure is even movable

Lattice and then maybe build some side rails to push off of?

Pushing yourself in makes a huge difference, Thats the only way I can do certain tricks on mine

it's dug into the ground 9≈ inches but i could do it. i will if i have to

You will want the long rail and you can always build a smaller one.

Getting the rail on the downslope instead of a flat section will give you more speed
