Summer Setup Materials??

So I have been wanting to make a summer setup for a long time and know that most are made with turf and pvc rails. And i have a few pvc rails so thats not the problem. But i was wondering what materials should be used for the drop in that may be a bit cheaper than turf. And m-snow is way to exspensive for my budget. So what do you guys use besides turf?

+k for help

I have a bunch of lattice and used it one summer. It breaks pretty easy. You might be able to use it for part of your drop in, but I would definitely buy enough Msnow to at least do your lip. You can always buy more and improve your set up.

If you use turf, and construction fence you will ultimately end up paying more in water and soap to make it fast enough. It can also make your PVC rail unpredictable.

Fact - no man made material is as fast as snow, so the more the ski comes in contact with the surface, the slower it will be. Msnow is fast because it minimizes the contact points between the ski and the material. Ladder style drop ins work on the same principle.

Msnow takes a lot of the guess work out of it and will save you a bunch of time. It is also the best thing for setting an edge on, so you can 270 onto your rail easier.

Go look at the videos in the Build-A-Jib 101 cult to get ideas on how to build your setup. Pay close attention to the tranny. \_/ = not good. Needs to be super smooth and mellow from down to flat to up.

Luck to you.

Hi man! If you want to make it really cheap just put your pvc pipes horizontal down your ramp! haha, works like a boss, but sketchy for switch.

Dude if you can't afford the price of turf you probably can't make a ramp. The turf only cost me like $15. Other than that, pressure treated 2x4s. Lots of em'.

Also join the build-a-jib cult, there's detailed instructions on how to build one.

I'm keen to try cutting turf into 1 inch thick strips and glueing it down in a pattern similar to traditional dry slope. not sure how well it would work though.

This is what I did for my setup, and personally it doesn't work very well for me. The PVC I used was kinda old though.

I don't have quite enough speed for my drop in so I ordered some m-snow for the first 10 ft of the drop in, and m-wax.
