Summer Set Up

So my local ski resort is closing up and all the snow is gone. I already hate not skiing and I have 2 pvc rails and a drop in. What is the best cheap thing to use on my drop in. Like turf, but cheap? Anything?
 
yeah i've also heard that orange construction fencing works good but ive never actually used it. you can get astro turf pretty cheap on craigslist. thats what i did.
 
build a jib cult. i have construction fence, which is faster but you cant edge on it, going down the drop in, and turf on the flat/tranny/jump so i can carve if i have to. turf carves better but is slower sort of.
 
old carpet usually works pretty well. also, if your willing to spend a little money, you could buy a good amount of turf from home depot/lowes for about 30$
 
and for good speed make the tranny smooth, keep the turf or fence wet and clean, dont let it get all slack, and it helps to not let it just be on the ground, so for optimal performance, put plywood between the grass and sliding surface. oh, and if the flat part is a wee bit downhill, it helps keep your speed up tremendously for me.
 
yeah snow fencing, it works really well. My friend has a ladder down ramp with the fencing on it and it works perfect.

donno if the summer heat would make it worse tho, just thought of that
 
Snowgel works really well, Ive tried everything and though just plain old soap will do the trick, snowgel will make it alot better and give you more control.
 
sounds cool as shit. Just wondering how much area does 1 pack cover and also how long will it last for?

Where do i get turf for free and how thick do i want? Pretty thin?

and

What is on the top of boxes that makes them slide. The white shit. I built a 15 foot wood frame for a box now i just need to put the top on it. Is it expensize and where do i get that?

Just kidding! But no, he's pretty much right with all that except the plastic fencing. Put it wherever on your drop in it doesn't matter.And the plastic stuff I think your talking about is HDPE (High Density Polyethylene) sheeting. http://www.usplastic.com/catalog/item.aspx?itemid=23869&clickid=redirectThat's what reallly slides well on rails except it's a bit pricey. Thanks so much. Umm shit is expensive but well worth it if i get ta slide rails all summer. I mean its my life, ya hurd! Everyone have fun on their summer set ups. I will!
