word on the streets is that hood and whistler are cancelling all summer camps due to lack of snow unless some miracle storm comes through. it will be interesting to see what happens with all this shit. wierd shit is goin on this winter - almost like a climate change. pac NW is drying up while the deserts of socal are turning green.

fucked up part is this season fucks the fire season and will be making it really early and prob big, also it is distroying any chance of a raft season in the PNW.

MHSSC is still goin down,

the snowpack should be rideable until the end of july as it is now. hopefully they get more.

 
odds are, camps at hood will not be canceled. they are trying to retain as much snow as possible on the glacier and they have been doing a pretty good job so far

i just got an email from coc. they said they have a base of 120cm and they are still running the camp, but they arent building a halfpipe to they can have more snow for jumps.

i wouyldnt go this year because the terrain is going to suck with the lack of snow, unless theirs a discounted price i'll save til next year

Heres an E-mail i got from shane regarding the staus of High North

it's true, mother nature is playing a bit of havoc with the summer programs here in Whistler. There is only about 1/3 of the regular snow base on the entire glacier and if things do not change drastically in the next month it will be difficult for us to host the camp. Most camps

are telling everyone that things are alright, including camps at Mt. Hood but this really isn't the case.

Right now we are still taking reservations so that everyone can be in the session that they want and we will have a final decision by the end of March as to whether or not things will go ahead. If we do cancel sessions because of lack of snow than we will be refunding 100% of camper's deposits. We really want the camp to go ahead and if at the end of March we feel that there is enough snow to build a great park and maintain it for 2 to 3 sessions than we will go ahead with those sessions.

i heard a rumor that mammoth might have some summer camps because they got so much snow. i highly doubt that though, because no matter how much snow there is, it's not going to be around long when it's 50 degrees over summer.

 
windells is still a go and taking reservations, there late sesions like late july-august may be X'ed but june--mid july are almost for sure

the camps at hood are not cancelled. they will be all joined into one park and willhave different times to use it.

whistler is prett hopeless. they can not snowmake up on the glacier. i heard if there is not much snow COC gets priorty

there is no way that hood is gonna have ski camps. I'm a local and the bowl is closed as well as mt hood meadows. Hoodoo is done too, Bachelor is gonna be next.

if only california didn't get so warm in the summer...cuz we have tons of snow...of course....in the summer there is this area up near Red lake that theres is a enough snow to build a small rail park until the end of july, we did it last summer and will deff this summer as well
