I struggle to write summaries! I know it's stupid because it is a simple task but I can't seem to do it without sounding robotic almost....

I need to write a summary of chapter 1 of "A Visit from the Goon Squad" and just can't seem to put it together....

Being an english major, my only advice is... Stop being a pussy and write the damn summary.Reading the book/chapter usually helps too.

summarizing is telling a story to someone who hasnt heard it. you do it all the time. its not hard just restate what you have learned/read to the reader as if they have never heard of it. You may be struggling bc you are not very good at reading. Try taking notes when you read.
