Does anyone out there know how the conditions are at Sugarloaf right now? We were looking to head up there this wekend Mar.27-29. Just wondering cause if the conditions are shitty....we probably won't do the 5 hour drive.
We got a friend that was gonna come up from mass to go with us, so we really need to know that its like up there, cause he would have a 7 hour drive home.
Last time I was up there was sunday the 21st. It had been warm the day before and dipped below freezing so the upper part of the mountain was pretty firm but the lower half and superquad area were nice and soft.
The mountain got a bit of rain yesterday which turned into snow. As of 9:40am today they reported 5in at the summit.
According to noaa the mountain should see another 1-3in by the end of the storm system. Tomorrow will be above freezing with a high of 43 then it'll be below freezing until sunday with a chance of snow showers thursday night into friday. http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=45.03083274759958&lon=-70.31112670898438&site=gyx&smap=1&marine=0&unit=0&lg=en
unless he lives on the cape or in western mass, there is no way that he would have a 7 hour drive home. i can make it from the southern coast of rhode island to sugarloaf in 5.5 hours.
a nice flowy jump line in sidewinder and a 35 ft step down to maybe like 40ft jump in haywire? then some rails and a nice 20 footer at the end to a wall ride. funfunfunfun
