now that the bush is officially open, the 10/11 thread begins

anyone gotten up there yet?

any rumors, plans, whats expected to be seen this winter, etc...

I got a pass, won't be up until next weekend. Hopefully they have something set up, I've never even been to the Bush before.

yeah i wont be up until then either. actually... Rail Jam that saturday

Pure Style 2 is on Dec. 4th (if anyone remembers the Pure Style jam last year, it was a great start to the season)

http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=108867175848669

last year they had a down rail, down box, and dfd all urban setups except i think the box was a bit of a gap.. not positive

jam is from noon to 3 and able to be used by anyone before noon or after 3 (if theyre doing it the same as last year)

last year i was one of the judges but im thinking about entering and throwing myself around trying to just make it into the finals since i know i dont have a chance to win.

havent gotten there but its the same opening as last year on lincoln peak. ride up midway and ski down to a different lift which will allow you have one open trail for options. its a nice winding trail though. should be a few things off the side you can jump too.

and heres some excitement:

dont bother. no setup, guns blasting on the trails, and 1 trail that just goes past the first lift. plus u have to download. totally not worth it so drop the extra 20 for stowe if u dnt have a seasons pass

heard talk of features being put in this week. pure style 2 however, was pushed back to 12/12 due to possible rain and in case the features cant be set up and good to go.

I am a novice with all the mountains in vermont. I might be attending St. Mikes next year. I visited two of my buddies at UVM this past halloween. A lot of the kids there were saying its all about Bush, and some said its all about Stowe. I might make a trip out there. Which one?

i went to st mikes, and they give you the dopest deal of all time on a smuggs pass, and i highly recommend taking advantage of it. no matter where you go to school, you can get a good deal on stowe and bush. from my experience, mad kids go to stowe, but bush is a super sick mountain too. when you get up here, go to the ski/snowboard club meetings, make some friends and see where theyre riding.

"Believe it, we are adding a few new goodies to our already packed arsenal of sliders, jibbers, and features. 3' flat to 28' down 4" round street rail from Guru ( www.gururails.com ), a series of old snowmaking pipeline jibbers, and a super secret feature being provided by Vitamin Water. What does this mean for you? Really, you have to ask, adding anything to our inventory of over 50 features is just gravy."

So pumped, and I'll be there this year

I'm super pumped for this year, it sounds like they're really going to step it up. Hopefully their jumps get better this year like they said they would; last years were a joke.

See you all there, for sure.

Yeah seriously, they had like 12 of the same exact down rail in a row. And the jump line had to get destroyed because some dumbass kid got a concussion and ski patrol yelled at the park crew.

I'm ready for this year though!

Who's going tomorrow? I'll be wearing this years Saga Hybrid Too jacket and some yellow pants. Say herro if you see me!

im headed up. trying to get there around 9:30 at the latest since i still need to get my pass.

big classic ns sticker on my helmet. green pants. black hoodie.

first day today. windy, icy, making snow all over the place.

currently there is a small setup at the bottom of organ grinder with a small ride-on flat box (less than 10 feet), a flat rail (10-12 feet) and a metal barrel bonk

spun like a mother fucker and got 270 on 270 off the box. wasnt doing too good on the rail.

in other park news, i saw tony (park manager) today and was talking to him about features and the new builder/shaper coming in. he learned jump building/shaping with the same guy who is at loon now so the jumps should be legit this year. the flat down rail i posted before is massive. some insane things will be thrown on that this year. snowmaking is planned to begin next weekend for mt ellen and the park.

the jump line is in the works to be opened before christmas break if snowmaking is on schedule

Oh wow, that's exciting! Last year it wasn't up until mid January if I remember correctly.

Those that were hiking the "park" all day should've tried a few runs on the side of organ grinder. There were a few little windlips that were big enough for some smaller flips/spins. Fun day!

Haha yea organ grinder is the shit. Such a hilarious name. I giggle each time I see the sign.

there must be options for everyone so a rail and a box will be set up. most likely they will both be down if they are set up in the same area as last year. plans to have a bonk this year as well. thats all ive heard from travis at pure snowboard shop.

last year it was a down box, dfd, and down rail.

yesterday there was a small ride on box, a jump on rail and a barrel bonk, on the mellow part of Organgrinder, by the end of the day the box was buried :)

They were setting it up when I left. They have a flat box that is short, I feel like they are putting a down right after it, and this ignant flat round pipe that is one of the sickest features I have seen, then a ton of flat bars and such that they hadn't put up yet. They were moving the snow around for the jumps still.

as i said before, they have to have a rail and box so anyone can compete. i should be there tomorrow and ill get some pics.

Yeah I'll be up there too, hope they open those to the public for tomorrow. Who else is going?/What will you be wearing?

Blue saga jacket, yellow pants for me.

setup was SUPER fun today! they have a 15ish foot barrel/tube thing that they made out of an old snowmaking pipe, its an ill feature, a 25 ft down rail after that. Next to that theres a hitchin post, with a 5 ft launch/up rail after it. Finally on the far skiers right theres a 10 ft flat box. Real fun setup, hiked all day, HOPE that the weather aint terrible for tommorow

The snowmaking pipe is definitely longer than 15 I would say. I saw it yesterday, it was alot longer than the 16 foot rail at my mountain in CT. Can't wait for tomorrow!

I thought they had a pole jam thingy though? I was hoping for a vertical pipe with a lil jump to tap and spin out of, not another up railish thing like they have at the bottom of organ grinder. Boo

YEa I'll be there. Not sure what I'll be wearing, but I'm thinking my blue saga vest and tweed pants instead of the cross suit, poncho over the top off course regardless.

ill be there probably sessioning before the comp then judging again this year. seem to be the only guy who doesnt bail from judging last minute.

do people ride in groups or whatever? im switching from stowe and used to ski on the team there, will i just be skiing by myself at sugarbush?

Didn't realize you switched to skiing. Didn't you break something last spring when you switched for a day?

Killing it for your first year if it is your first year.

Ya dude, I snowboarded last year. thanks man, were you there today? I was the kid in the 1000 tall tees and blue saga pants.
