Subaru Tire Advice

Thinking about tires for my old 2002 forester. Willing to sacrifice some on road performance for grip and durability getting down service roads and such. Car has orv tags and gets dirty somewhat regularly but still logs a lot of highway miles. Obviously needs to do well in snow. Whats a good "all mountain" tire? Anyone have tire they love?

Nokians are pretty darn great. Have them on my outback and they handle deep snow and logging roads no problem.

yup, I have nokian wrG4s on my '08 FXT and afaik they're all seasons that focus more on winter performance instead of summer, perfect for the more minimal miles I put on it in the summer. Highly recommend if you don't need dedicated winter tires and also want to maintain pavement grip, but they're definitely pavement focused not off road.

not a Subaru but my family's lil '93 Jeep cherokee has nokian rotiivas that handle lighter off roading like a champ without being too loud/ineffective on pavement and snow (those older boxy jeeps kinda suck on pavement regardless of tire though). The armored sidewalls are nice and she handles the sharp scree field logging roads around Mt Hood no problem

idk what size tire you need, but I love my falken wildpeak a/t3w tire on my 4runner. Wear isn't the best, but offroad, snowpack and even ice they do surprisingly well. And they're pretty cheap.
